Heres what I see happening. 1st Carl is waiting to see if Gohlston is available at #5, if he is then Jared Allen is off to Philly for there 1st pick and Lito Shepard. Then we pick Gholston with the #5 and then Branden Albert (A Will Shields clone) with the 1st that we aquired from Philly. In the 2nd we take Early Doucett (praying that he is still there). In the 3rd round finaly address Tackle or center and get a good one with Collins if he is still there but if not take Sullivan.

1.Vernon Gohlston (DE)aka one bad ass brother
2.(via trade with Philly) 19th pick Branden Albert (G)+ acquiring Lito Shepard (DB)at corner
3.(2nd round) Early Doucett (WR)(Bowe and Doucett-WOW!)
4.(3rd round) John Sullivan (C)(Tim Grunhard clone)
5.(4th round) Oneil Cousins (T)
6.(5th round) Owen Schmitt (FB)bad ass full back

Im not one to put all my money on tackles in the first round, this draft has so many. We need star power on this team badly, and with the names ive put up there we would be well on our way

dumb mock draft.....the first two picks are "possible" - Falcons are not taking Matt Ryan- no way!.....if Dorsey/Jake Long are gone, Falcons will try and deal down w/ Raiders/Jets - the pick will be up for auction to whomever wants D-Mac. If nobody antes up, Falcons would probably just take Sedrick Ellis....

I think LJ needs an O-Line to light his fire. It's hard to run with authority when you can't get out of the backfield. I think cometition is good for him, but I see both of them getting staight up mugged if next year is anything like last.

Additionally, he could be our KR, PR and 2rd QB filling several spots and allowing for more hogs on the team.

McFadden would be a good fit and I will tell you why.

Remember how ferocious LJ came out of the gates after the diaper comment and sitting on the bench behind Priest, etc? Those things all really burned his ass. If I was Herm I would draft McFadden on LJ incentive alone. It appears that LJ needs that competition to ignite his fire. I didn't see the same LJ (noted our line sucked) running with authority; except the game he spiked the flag in the endzone. The only thing that could sqaush this whole theory is that LJ was playing to get paid and nothing will bring the old LJ back. LJ will be 30 soon. That's when we start leading RBs out to pasture.

My draft preference would be 1. Jake Long 2. Chris Long 3. McFadden - then pick up Brohm with our next pick. I'm not on the Ryan Wagon. I could also see us trading the pick to Dallas, I wonder if they would return T New to his old stomping grounds and give us their 1st rounder this year and next year.

It's a team sport and it's the team not the QB that wins or loses. I'm a bit tired of people arguing that Ryan didn't have an elite supporting cast. If you have a team of good payers who gell and play as a team you can win games. You don't need TO's and Chad Johnsons to win. Sure the QB plays a major roll but between Brohm and Ryan, they both played good. Ryan's TEAM won, Brohm's TEAM didn't. On a side note: Adam, I really dig how you put Thomas at #11, I think he's the best WR in this class.

Devin Thomas is rising more than any WR right now, with Kelly and Sweed dropping. Chilo, I believe, is on Kiper's Big Board and will at worst be a second-round selection. And why all the continued Ryan hating? With equal talent--and, personally, I think Brohm had better talent--in an equal conference, on guy won, the other guy lost. The winner was Ryan. Plus, he's bigger, just as smart (same Wonderlic--32) and has better intangibles.

I just don't understand. I think it's just that we as fans live in dream worlds sometimes. We want to believe that we can get as good of a QB at 36 as we can at five. No way. Not at that position. Not without some once-in-a-blue-moon Tom Brady/Tony Romo luck.

Dave, I agree with you on Brohm, and by the sounds of it most people on here do. Dorsey would be awsome but if teams ahead of us do "fall asleep" on him, I'm not sure I trust the chiefs to not fall asleep as well. The two guys they have expressed real interest in have been Ryan and Otah, both of who I would hate at #5. As for WR, I love Devin Thomas, Adam's mock is the highest I've seen him go in a mock this year, in most he makes it to RD 2. Currently my wish list for the #5 spot would be: J. Long, Dorsey, C. Long, Ellis, then either Gholston or trade down. Anything else in that spot would be a bit disappointion for me.
