All I know is if I were drafting I wouldn't pick a dumbass like Clady at that position in round one. I know that much. And, sure, we can all have those conversations. That's why the site is here.

Cool. Good Info. But ya know, at the end of the day, when we are nitpicking like this, we really wont know till the end of next season. So, Ryan v. Brohm and Clady v. Baker...lets agree to have an "I told you so" edition somewhere in Jan 09 haha. I bet we both win one...you know how this kinda stuff goes.

For instance, Joe Thomas scored a 29 on his Wonderlic. It takes brains to play left tackle.

I like Ellis, Master, but I don't like Clamhead Clady (13 on the Wonderlic...will he be able to remember the plays?) and Brohm. Brohm couldn't win at Louisville his senior year with all that talent. All the guy had to do was win 10 games and he was the top pick. He choked. Big time. I don't want a choker QB. I want someone with a nickname like Matty Ice.

As for the spaces, all of us admins/editors/authors just get them. Maybe if you actually log in up top you get them to. I'll check into it.

(repost of comment 35 with corrected spacing)
Ok…I have been thinking this over for a long time.

Here is the MasterBlaster Blueprint...

Assumption 1. Jake Long is going to be gone. If by some fluke he is not, we take him and have a "by the numbers" draft.

Assumption 2. The falcons will take Matt Ryan…Like I want them to. I say there is a 50/50 shot on Ryan. He will either be the next Eli Manning or the next Leaf. You dont roll 50/50 dice, on a quarterback, with our numerous glaring holes. Also, if Ryan is the next Eli, you will be paring him with a second rate left tackle (cause we didn't take one here). How do you think Eli would have done last season if he got sacked 55 times? Can you say Patriot superbowl champions?

Also, if the Falcons dont take Matt Ryan, they will take Brian Brohm in the second. They just got a 2nd rounder, right above ours, with the Deangelo Hall trade. So, pray they take Matt Ryan. Frickin Falcons

Round 1: Sedric Ellis. Remember when we were crying that we had a 30th ranked defense not just 2 or so years ago? Guess what. We are in the second year of rebuilding our defense. We aren’t there yet. With Ellis we might be almost there. Allen/Hali bookends with Ellis/Boone tackles…I like it. This might give us a top 5 defense next year. Now I know this looks alot like blueprint 1 (which I love), but here is where it gets interesting…

Round 1: Ryan Clady. We trade up with someone like the patriots somewhere between pick 6-12. We trade our 1st and 2nd round picks in 09. I would love to trade our 1st and 3rd, but I think thats unrealistic this high. I know your saying "MasterBlaster your crazy". Yes I know. Crazy like a fox. What we are really doing is taking our 1st round pick in 09 in 08. All we are really paying is our 2nd round pick in 09. And, "by the numbers", our 2nd rounder next year could be a bust. Also, Clady is at the top of this years deep OT class. Next year, the only elite OT, I see, is Oher, and guess what…he will be next years Jake Long…we wont get him either. So go for broke this year, where there is deep talent in our positions of need, and sacrifice next year. Remeber, the Browns got Quinn and Joe Thomas last year, and they don’t have a pick till the 4th this year. I think they did a stellar job going for broke…just look at them now.

Round 2: Brian Brohm. This is assuming Falcons take Ryan. I really think Brohm is a steal. Remeber at the beginning of the season he was the number 1 potential draft pick. Ok, so he had a rough year. Who cares, the guy is a stealy missle man, I think he has winner written all over him. One of those guys that will screw down in the second half and overcome a 14 point deficite. I see him with Payton Manning Heart and mental toughness with Eli Mannings tallent, or maybe even a lil less in the tallent department, but still in the ballpark. Point is, he would be a perfect guy to roll the 50/50 dice on in the second round to be our franchies quarterback for the next 10 years.

The way I see it, based on the last 20 or so drafts, you have a 50/50 shot on your first rounder quarterback, being a franchise QB, and a 50/50 shot on one of the next 4 guys down the line being a franchise quarterback. I think that diamond in the rough for the chiefs is Brian Brohm. I just got a feeling. A Len Dawson/Tom Brady feeling. And it will only cost us a second rounder.

Ok…so far, we have sacraficed a good chunk of our 09 draft. We have given our defense a shot at top 5 defenses next year. We have drafted a possible franchise quarterback and put the 2nd best OT prospect on his blind side. Thats a good start I think. Our glaring holes are still Corner Back, Offensive Guard, and Center. Face it, this is the 2nd year of reabuilding our defense, and the 1st year of rebuilding our offense. There are going to be holes at the end; no matter what. Even with these drastic moves I’ve suggested.

Third Round: Corner Back (I trust herms eye on finding one here in the later rounds)

Fourth Round: some position of need, or depth, or even part of a trade for our 2x 1st rounder2x

Fifth/Sixth/Seventh: The way I see it, in these rounds, you will probably get 1 good guy for 2 busts. You can include 4th round here too. So with these 6 pics (7 if you include 4th round) I hope to get 2 or so diamonds in the rough. 3 or 4 if we get really really lucky. I trust Herm & company in this area. So far, they have done a great job in this area. Colby, Page, et. all.

Whatever holes aren’t filled, you plug with free agents (signed for one year) after the draft. Hell, the fadders are gona have to cut someone after they pick up DMC and the sallary cap hits.

So there you have it, the MasterBlaster plan of attack. I would love to hear feedback and/or massive flaming on this

Hey Adam, how do you get spacing in your posts? Is there some spcial / or - line to be put in to get space between paragraphs and/or thoughts? If I do a big post again I (and any potential readers/flamers) dont want it to be a big blob.

Adam,

I like Baker too and I truly believe that he'll be off the board when we make our 2nd round pick.

One last note for this morning:

If you are going to strikeout on a top five pick, make it on a quarterback, the guy who can win it all for you, not a defensive tackle (Ryan Sims) or an OT (Robert Gallery).

Jay-Z was a thug when he was young, but now he's a certified business man. In my eyes, he's the exact same as L.J. kcikin' it with Jordan at this point, Jason, and I hear you on Pacman. We aren't going there, even if we should. I was a huge backer of us going after T.O. and we blew that one. We aren't Dallas--we don't gamble on O.T.P. (other team's problems) even though we have the perfect coach to do so.
