Devard Darling Gets "Gnarly"

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Video | COMMENTS: 15 Comments

New Chiefs wide receiver Devard Darling doing his thing to Gnarls Barkley’s “Run.” Pretty sweet. I think he’s the physical YAC guy that Eddie Kennison and Samie Parker could never be. I like Eddie, but he was never a physical possession-type receiver. It looks like Darling also has big-play ability, too. Check it out…

Ok Gunther, that was a good video and a GREAT song. Look like you just provided me with a new ringtone.

Yah, I dont know what kid made that video :)

  3. Jeremy says:

    NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Taylor says:

i love the addition of darling. does anyone think that he will line up opposite bowe on day 1, or will he just be a slot or 4th? at least we’ve adressed 2 positions so far that we need-fb and wr, now we pry have maybe 5 more to go-ot, og, c, cb, dt.

  5. Jeremy says:

Taylor, I suggest that right now he is at least a #3 receiver on our team, possibly #2.  But, that is not saying much is it?  hahaha.

  6. Dave says:

how can you be happy saying we have taken care of two starting positions -  our fullback is broken and I dont consider Darling much better than Webb ……I am pissed

  7. Jason says:

Gnarls Barkley’s CD is great, I listen to it all the time.  Darling laid a nice stiff-arm on whoever that was at the end, I like this signing!

Did anyone else notice that this was eerily similar to "the snatch" (or whatever we’re calling it now)?  I’m of course referring to the Eli – Tyree Uberplay from the superbowl. The Patriots linebackers flushing (but failing to actually tackle) the quarterback, who rolls out right of the pocket and zings a last-ditch pass down field for a huge gain?Am I the only one who saw this parallel?

  9. Jeremy says:

Per ProFootballWeekly:     5. Kansas City — Chiefs officials say they are looking hard at offensive tackle, cornerback and wide receiver, in that order, and will reach for an OT if they can’t move down. We hear the preferred OT choice of Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards is Pittsburgh OLT Jeff Otah.

  10. Adam says:

Havingagreenday, I actually did see a little David Tyree in this clip. It just wasn’t really relevent here in Chiefsland. Nice observation, though.

  11. Jeremy says:

Maybe we have a trading partner with Detroit (#15)!!!!  If McFadden falls to the #5 spot we could trade down and be in the #15 spot and take Clady or Otah!  —-Check this out: Profootballtalk.com and MLive.com report that Kevin Jones will be released by the Lions. Jones was told the news this morning by the team.A stunner, but Jones has undergone surgery for a Lisfranc foot fracture and a torn ACL the last two offseasons. He’s uncertain to be ready for the 2008 season and may not be "100%" until 2009. He will make an interesting pickup, but is looking at a backup role this year. Tatum Bell, Brian Calhoun, and a highly picked rookie to be named later will take over the Lions backfield.

  12. Ian \"The Iceman\" Brennan says:

if we take otah at 5 ill shoot myself if we want Otah we have to trade down

  13. mike says:

Charles Robinson of Yahoo sports lists Darling as one of 32 players to hit it big next season sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news

  14. bigchief13 says:

If we took Otah at #5 I would seriously for the first time in 14 years, start looking for a new favorite team.  Maybe come back to the Chiefs when Edwards and Peterson have been banished from KC.
