According to Fanball.com the Chiefs are interested in offensive guard Rex Hadnot:
The News
The Kansas City Chiefs are planning to take a look at free agent offensive lineman Rex Hadnot, according to Pro Football Weekly. Hadnot has been advised that he is no longer in Miami’s future plans. Our View
The Chiefs have been lethargic in targeting players on the open market and reportedly aren’t taking an aggressive approach in pursuing Hadnot.
Anybody else surprised we are not taking an aggressive approach with Hadnot? I really don’t want this to happen, but maybe King Carl is sticking it to me for my post earlier today.

handnot’s like 30 and since he played for the dolphins last year, i assume he must be average at best. i hope we dont sign him, id rather us start tre stallings at that spot. we dont need to go after average o line right now, we need good and somewhat-young ones like max starks and shane olivea. but overall i wouldnt be that mad if we signed him cuz we desparetly need ANY help at all at o-line
Hadnot over Shane Olivea!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHALOLOLOLOLOLOL I think I am going to be sick!
The Titans and Texans have already taken a look and said no thanks. In addition to the Chiefs, Hadnot has arranged visits with the Stillers and the Browns. He’s reportedly wants 5 mill per year. While I believe he could provide depth and competition at C & G positions, I think his asking price seems a tad high.
Well DD beat me to it. If he is looking for 5 mill a year, I pass. He may be a decent signing, more as a center than guard, but I would get him for backup money.
Yah, if he wants 5mil than I would not be aggresively seeking him either. Its amazing what guys are getting paid with the new salary cap.
Well, this hope didn’t last too long. According to rotoworld, the Browns just signed him. No terms on the contract.
The most telling thing to me about this whole story is that he never even made it to KC. I see a pattern emerging and I’d like to know why KC is not at the top of the trip list for free agents.
Has Peterson finally succeeded in establishing the kind of reputation among players/agents in the NFL to where KC has become the destination of last resort? Sure seems like it.
Brilliant!
Wow… . . . . . . . We couldnt even sign Rex Hadnot. . . I know a lot of you maybe older than me, but in MY 22 years of living/ being a Chiefs Fan. . . .THIS look one of the worst if not THE WORST FA period Ive witnessed by the Kansas City Chiefs. . . How much more of this can we take? I LITERALLY feel beat up. . . Please, Does ANYONE know what the deal is with Olivea and Starks? This is unbelievably frustrating.
Brilliant!!!!
he signed with the browns, so much for that
That was another Adam, but it looks like Hadnot we will have not. Bad joke, I know, but I’m glad he’s off the market. he’s garbage, and not worth what the dough.
Could not agree more with you adam, and awsome joke, i get it.
ARGHHHH!!!!! Bucs just signed Antonion Bryant WR. He would have been a good complement to Bowe IMO. At least someone gave him a shot.
In summary, had not Hadnot signed elsewhere, we could have had Hadnot, or not.
very nice.
The Miami line were actually good run-blockers last year (when their running backs could stay healthy) and Hadnot was only 26 (and decently rated) so it probably would have been worth the two year contract he got from the Browns. About the only player left on the market worth targeting is Max Starks…beyond that the Chiefs might as well stay out of free agency from this point on because thanks to Carl and Herm’s idiotic do-nothing "strategy" there’s not much left to pick through for talented players that would fit a rebuilding effort. David Stewart maybe (although he’s a restricted free agent so likely not worth a contract and a draft pick).
And Antonio Bryant’s got serious problems…not the kind of guy you want anywhere near the Chiefs locker room. I’m betting that’s not going to go well for the Bucs.
