Thank God!I am so tired of seeing Ty Law get burned and juked out of his jock strap. Good Ridence! Dunn was good at what he did–Block. Bell was awful and stole money from the Chiefs, shame on you sir! Reed, well, I really don’t have anything bad to say about the man, other than he might want to find a different career, I’m afraid he’s played his last football game in the NFL.
February 27th, 2008 at 1:40 pmyea Ty Law is old, but he did what he was brought here to do and did what no other Chief has since I can remember, PLAY WELL IN THE PLAYOFFS.. Law also was mentor to the younger CBs; dont get me wrong, Im glad they released him, but stop the bashing. Bell was a no brainer, any 10 year old playing madden could have told you he wasnt worth his contract. Bashing players for have big contracts is wrong though, they are just trying to get all they can; we would do the same in their situation.. Lets all just get back to bashing King Carl, though it seems like we are actually going in the right direction now, but Id bet thats more Clark.
February 27th, 2008 at 1:51 pmWhy didn’t the Chiefs trade Law earlier (like after the Playoffs)? He did play well against Manning and was probably the only bright star in that game.
February 27th, 2008 at 1:56 pmwho do you guys think will take Laws spot; Brakenridge or Sapp? Both seem to be pretty hard working and would give them both a good grade for their preformances last year (sans Sapp losing his head a few too many times).
February 27th, 2008 at 1:58 pmilmuku- you would be lucky to get a gatorade jug for an old CB with a huge contract
February 27th, 2008 at 2:01 pmI will bash bash and bash these guys some more. No one forces them to play football for a living, they choose to. I think when a player gets paid big time to come in to a city and then promptly under perform, I will bash them. One playoff game, he intercepted Peyton Manning. What about all the other games the man played in? According to the great Jason Whitlock, if the Chiefs signed Law, they were going to the Super Bowl. What happned? That gives me another reason to bash him. He never….never played up to what he was expected of him while in KC. He got burned more than Eric Warfield, thatn’s right, I said it. Eric Warfield.
February 27th, 2008 at 2:05 pmPorter Park–I don’t know who will replace him. A warm body that can run and has some sign of agility should be better than Law. I’d say Free Agency will bring the answer, if the Chiefs sign a CB, I’d say he will obviously be given every chance to compete to start, along with the CB’s currently on the roster. If not, then I would say Big Herm will look at the draft for a starter.
February 27th, 2008 at 2:08 pmSteven- i feel ya totally, I was just pointing out that the Law thing wasnt all negitive. I like FA for CB, its one of the few posistions you can get a good player at (as opposed to FA OL etc..)
February 27th, 2008 at 2:14 pmPorter Park–You may be right, I think it is going to be a real interesting off season this year. I’m looking forward to this one more than I have in the past. I’ll give Herm credit, he seems to know DB’s, I will have to trust him no matter who they sign, or don’t sign in the off season.
February 27th, 2008 at 2:19 pmD.Hall. We gotta really try to pick him up. C’mon guys. Get in on the Campaign…
February 27th, 2008 at 2:36 pmPlus, its begining to seem closer and closer to coming true with CBS Sportsline, ESPN, and the NFL Network reporting that we’re 1 of 2 or 3 teams in on signing the 24 year old.
February 27th, 2008 at 2:38 pmGood Riddance! Bring on the young ones!!!!!!! I do want to thank Dunn for his accomplishments. He was a great blocker and good decoy. He just is too old and slow, and could not catch much last year. The real questions is who is going to replace him. Michael Allan is a receiving not a blocking tight end. Ditto with Kris Wilson. GO CHIEFS!!!!!
February 27th, 2008 at 2:50 pmI am just ecstatic that Kendrell Bell is finally gone! I hate that BUM!
February 27th, 2008 at 3:13 pmTo me, this means we are getting ready to make some moves. We didn’t have to cut these guys so soon. It looks like we want to have as much cap room cleared as we can before Friday now.
February 27th, 2008 at 3:25 pmid have to agree with you Adam, seems they are unloading
February 27th, 2008 at 3:35 pmJeremy. I posted Carl’s comments on an earlier post this week… What Does todays events tell ME? … Well, Im think that by making room in cap so soon, the Chiefs MAY be think possibilities. They may hit the FA hard. Chasing After Starks and Hall (hopefully Rogers . )… so that if Jake isnt there at 5, we have our LT and we MAY pick up DMC. And have that 2 Headed RB monster.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:50 pmJust MY opinion. . . bring on the opposers.
February 27th, 2008 at 4:52 pmChiefs are just cleaning house.
February 27th, 2008 at 5:12 pmYeah, yeah. This is all good BUT I still haven’t read Eddie Drummonds name yet. They better not re-sign. He sucked!
