Tampa Bay Buccaneers were informed today that CB Brain Kelly has decided to opt of his contract with the team and test free agency. Kelly has had a string of injuries that has limited his playing time, but he at least adds to the cornerback group that is left in free agency.

At one point, Kelly was the only solid man to man coverage CB this team had. The last few seasons though, fans and coaches have gotten used to not seeing much of Kelly, as injuries (including the dreaded foot injury for corners) have kept him out of the lineup more often that he has been in it.
Kelly might not be our answer at corner, but I would at least like to take a look at him. Matter of fact, if you’re a free agent corner I would love for the Chiefs to take a look at you. Since most of the corners got tagged and left the group rather bare, Kelly made a wise decision to test the free agent market.

Hey, looks like he’s had a bad foot injury, I think that should make him an easy choice for the Chiefs…sorry, couldn’t resist.

lmao, it seems like he has been out there for awhile and doesn’t really meet Herms youth movement. This season was his 10th season.
I think we should still look at every corner because it is an area of need.
FYI I heard Ryan Clady injured his pectoral muscle bench pressing yesterday at the combine and their is concern over Glenn Dorsey’s strees fracture in his leg.
Zach there are reasons that players are free agents… and his injuries are why…we dont need to release one of ours who actually stay on the field hurt sometimes, for a corner who walks off and sits down on the bench… not when we dont have a third corner.
Kelly is excatly what we don’t need. Hall is 24, people. If we are going to give a lot up to get one of these guys, let’s get the guy who can play at a high level for most of Brodie’s or Matt Ryan’s (lol) or Joe Flacco’s career.
