ROC27…Understand money there. Don’t need to convince me of that. However, Moose or Stallworth? The ball control system is whats being put in. DV and the 2nd coming of the greatest show on turf isn’t going to happen. Bowe is young, Bordie is young and we’re about to install a youth movement on the offfensive line. Any passing to be done will be done with play action pass or a "3 step drop and get it out" until some confidence is put in place collectively as a offensive unit. Ball control and time of possession will become critical in any scheme put in from week to week. I am of the opinion Moose has better hands in coverage and over the middle. Tony won’t be around forever and that opens up a young tight end. Bowe has the speed to take any coverage long for our shots. Thats not to take away anything from Stallworth. I’ve just seen more of moose is all.

larry1c… Again, we HAVE the money to sign Stallworth… He would spread out the opposing Defense for us. He’s small (sure) but fast as hell… look at Wes Welker… Ha. Its kinda funny, cause last I checked "Mooooose" didnt stand for Terrell Owens or Randy Moss. Sure, he was a good target for Griese in Chicago, but we arent Chicago, and Brodie isnt Griese. We gotta get over these "just ok" picks. We need to make some big moves now. Its time.

Some great comments here. I do try to consider the long term effect of these signings. Especially when it comes to cap money, not now, but over the next couple of seasons. Stallworth would be a great acquisition, but is also looking for a payday! We cannot afford to do that in a year when we are also negotiating with a cornerstone of the defense and a franchise player. Further, as a general groundrule, you don’t spend a great deal in FA when you’re rebuilding from within. We have plenty of holes on the offensive line and will either be signing a top 5 pick OR possibly even 2 first rounders (depending on trading down and/or negotiate picks). Dollar for dollar and considering our position right now, I see Moose as a better pick with a one year deal. Adam’s point earlier was right on. He was Griese’s go-to guy for possession catches and came up big with some of those catches. I think that brings a different type of player we need from the Free Agent market when you also factor in a new Offensive Coordinator. Bringing in anyone who is looking for a payday is the wrong message to send to these kids….

Adam… I agree most times, than not. But You said that D.Bowe doesnt catch the ball as well as Moose… I DISagree… Look back at his highlight reel, bro. D.Bowe isnt our #1 for nothing… Now, Moving on. Moose IS a great player fine. But to bring up what he’s done in the past doesnt mean much. We all made that mistake with Ty Law… I say we just step up and bring in Mr.Stallworth. It’ll add so much to our Offense. Him being our #2 frees up Gonzo more often than last season, giver Brodie More LEGIT options and LJ a right to run. Think About It.

Up until recently I wanted them to draft a legit #2 reciever in either the 2nd or 3rd round ie…Sweed, Bowman, Hardy or whoever fell to them. Now I am starting to think that we target the best fit (money & scheme) for our #2 through free agency (Stallworth, Hackett, or Johnson) and then get a "slot reciever" as our #3 in either the 4th or 5th round. The wide reciever position is deep so someone should be there out of Hall, Douglas, Avery, or Jackson.

With a few exceptions, veteran, free agent WRs that are any good are expensive and tend to be prima donnas. We need to draft a burner. I know that D Jack is probably not in the cards for us but maybe somebody like Donnie Avery (Houston), Harry Douglas (Louisville), Eddie Royal (VTech), or Dexter Jackson (Appalachian State)? With the exception of Douglas, all these guys could also be used in the return game. Gotta love 2fers.

Moose is too slow. After the last several years of Eddie Kennison being our best receiver I would think that most Chiefs’ fans would NOT want him coming to KC. Its pretty obvious the guy would be a good influence on the locker room, but I’m not sure he’s young enough to be that good influence at a good price.
