AA Readers Mock: Who Should Miami Pick?
We’ve decided that instead of the staff picking for those who no show, we will instead be taking reader polls. Since we need to get started, we’re turning Miami’s pick over to a vote:
"If you're a Chiefs fan (and who isn't?), Arrowhead Addict is a daily must-read." - Matt Mosley, ESPN Hashmarks
"One of the main reasons this is my favorite Chiefs site is the humor." - Scott, long-time A.A. commenter
"You guys just keep piling on the reasons why this is the best blog site out there!." - Jester, long-time A.A. commenter
THE BEST DAMN CHIEFS SITE THAT THERE IS. - Lobo, long-time A.A. commenter

Its funny that Jake Long is just as likely to get picked as anyone else by Miami, but only four of us were willing to vote for him because we all want him to be our left tackle. Point being we’re probably not going to get Long unless he shows he’s not such a super stud in workouts or other guys jump ahead of him. But hey its a chiefs fan mock, why not get what we want!
February 7th, 2008 at 7:24 pmJay, Miami is just as likely to draft a second return man…they are quickly becomming the cleveland browns and the detroit lions, of the drafting world…
February 7th, 2008 at 7:49 pmand for that matter , Jay, I dont want *Long* …I think he is as over rated as was his team and Ohio st. were last year…if we draft Clady I will be exstreamly happy.
February 7th, 2008 at 7:51 pmi am a little wary of drafting a guy from the WAC with a top 5 pick – not that he’s not good, but look how Colt Brennan buckled when he played really strong college programs.
February 8th, 2008 at 7:16 amI agree w/ redbeard, except I dont want an O-Lineman at 4th or 5th, I strongly feel you can get near or just as good of a lineman in the2nd when looking at this years crop.
February 8th, 2008 at 11:53 amporter I hear what you are saying and your inline with allot of people… but when it comes to a starting left tackle…one whom you can stick in there for years to come…a first riounder is a must even in a deep class as this years… look at last year, with the deep recieving corps…would you rather have Bowe… or one of the second rounders with half of his stats playing… and thats the reason we need to draft a left tackle number one… even if he is more a number 11 first rounder… we have a dire need at left and this is the way to fix it.
February 8th, 2008 at 2:56 pmRedbeard, The Dolphins now have Parcells in charge, and whether you like him or not, he is much more effective at drafting than most in the NFL. I can’t argue with you about Clady, but I think Long is just as likely to work out well.Porter Park, you make a good point, the draft seems to be deepest in OT, CB, RB, and DE, so maybe DT or we trade down. Although I’m gun shy on DT’s. Nothing else looks all that appealing.
February 8th, 2008 at 2:57 pmand reaching isnt a reach when the player works out… if it is such a bad idea then we should give back Hali and try and grab him in the second where people had him going at…
February 8th, 2008 at 2:58 pmI agree, parcells will help them allot… he doesnt make to many bad early picks…but Miami has allot of needs and who knows who he will pick… off, or deff. he could go either way… and both sides of the ball in Miami will be looked at by him this year.
