The man had horribly injured knees, that he never fully recovered from, and a bad back to boot. As well as lingering durability problems that have plagued him for the vast majority of his career. He was a blocker extraordinaire, only because he had to be. He couldn't run routes as effectively as he used to in Philadelphia. He just couldn't do it consistently. That's why we hardly threw to him, that and the fact that he was probably the 2nd, or maybe 3rd best blocker on our offense. We needed him to block, not to catch. Same reason Gonzo had reduced catches. We needed him to block. It's not a problem of we just didn't throw it to him, it was a case of 'his mind said he could do it, but his body said otherwise'. Yes, Dunn will be missed, at least by those knowledgeable to the game. He wasn't a Tony G, in the eyes of the majority of fans/media, but he was just as crucial to our game planning. Have a nice retirement from the NFL ya 'old quart of glue.'

It amazes me how everyone has all these comments to make about Dunn now. Personally, I don't think he got a fair "shake" in kc at all. A Tight End who never getstthe ball thrown to him? Lets be real? The two times this seasonthey did throw it, he caaught it.he more than did his job on the blocking end of things, but from traiing camp on , the coaching staff had negative things to say about him. they put him oup on the rookie floor of the dorm, called him a "quart of glue" and that was all during Training camp. No one bothered to mentioned that some of the MAJOR yds gained the past couple of years were due to his blocking. good luck Dunn, and thanks. If I were you, i would be telling kC that they don't deserve you and that you are MORE THAN GLAD TO LEAVE!

McFadden would help alot, for the (let's be generous here) 50% of plays he would be in on. But a tackle/guard would be in on at least 90% of the offense's plays, assuming he stays at least semi healthy, without very many stamina problems. So someone who will help more is still key.

Correction: I think Priest was a touchdown leader in the NFL either the year we drafted LJ or the year after, maybe? I'm too lazy to check up on it, but I could have been wrong there. My bad.

And the more I think about it the more I can't get over the fact that they are saying "Hey, we have LJ, why do we need Run DMC?" But I seem to remember a few years back, after Priest was the NFL's touchdown record holder for a single season, and was the number 1 back in a 3 year span, who also led the league in receptions, that we drafted LJ in the first. Did we have to? No. We already have a good runner. But it turned out for the best. I know I know, our line WAS badass, and IS now garbage, but still. We had Priest, got LJ, and now we have LJ, and we're getting...... hopefully a linemen but you can't say completely we've given up on McFadden.

Steven, I understand it's Adam Teicher -- the second bst Adam covering the Chiefs, for the record (lol!). Still, he does have more inside connections than any of us. Sad but true.

XXXLP, Agreed on Long. Clady is also looking very, very good. Chiefs fans will warm up to him. They better --Long will go top three.

Steven, that's the attitude we don't need, a Jake Long or our season is done type attitude. Yes, Jake Long looks like a great prospect. So did Robert Gallery for our good friends the Faders. He's a bust, and he's barely hanging on to that right tackle position, after being dubbed the greatest LT prospect in decades. It's not Jake Long or bust, although I would be happy if we got him. This year the O-line crop is excellent, we could trade down, get more quality picks, and pick up TWO quality linemen for the price of ONE Jake Long. Note: And really, if Waters is moved to center, and we have a crappy LG replace him, Jake Long at LT is going to suck anyway. We need quality players at all positions, not a few great ones at a couple positions, surrounded by piles of crap, aka John Welbourn :) lol.

Raider choose before us becauce the tie-breaker after SOS that league came up with was record against common opponents, and since we beat the Chargers once the Raiders choose before us.. I have agree about Long, if he aint their, I hope they dont take an O-lineman.
