Larry, I used to live in Miami, butthe problem is the game is here. We don’t know when, but we know who we are playing and where. The closest to MIA will be Atlanta or Charlotte, and neither are that close at all, really.Webby, Jimmy Legs?

All things considered, I like the move. Yeah, we could gotten some younger OC’s, but this move establishes some foundation with youth. Rather than bringing in an OC who has coached QB’s, this move develops the whole offense and takens pressure off of Brodie. I’ll still to the same old broken record though; Without an offensive line, the buzz of discussion with this hire becomes mute. One more thing, in looking at the "off-season" dates that were posted, when does the NFL finalize the ‘08 schedule? I’m looking to head back to the Miami game next year. anybody?

I wouldn’t go so far as to say those offenses he led were abyssmal. His offenses have always been top 15 and hovering around or in the top 10. I was surprised myself until I checked it out on pro football reference. That should hopefully reassure you a bit. Like his offense or not, but Gailey’s offense has won on the pro level time and time again. He’s never coordinated/coached an NFL team that went under .500. In fact, his teams have almost always won 10 or more games. The guy knows how to win. And he’s won on the playoff level too, even if only as a coordinator. So yeah, I’d be careful not to confuse "unexciting" with "unproductive." His offenses are a snoozing, run-happy offense, but he knows how to coach and his offense wins games… at least on the NFL level.

At first I thought Gailey was a horrible choice, like most fans/bloggers. But now that I think about it, considering what we had in Solari, Gailey will be a HUGE upgrade. He has had successful offenses as coordinator, even a superbowl offense.
