ok I have a question…lol why in the world will Carolina not take a o-lineman… again as with the chiefs, they have off. players at the skill spots… but nobody can tell because they dont have an o-line

First off, props for an interesting scenario and . My guess would be if that Atlanta picks ahead of KC, they will opt for DMC over Ryan or trade down. I also agree that Dallas making a move for DMC is very likely to happen but I believe they will need to come up with more than their 2 first rounders. The board values are #5 = 1700, #22 = 780, and #30 = 620. That leaves 300 points unaccounted for. As such, I think Dallas would need to add their 3rd round pick to make it attractive enough. Any way you look at it, not bad at all for the Chiefs if they can make it happen. There seems to be a lot of depth and quality available at OT in this trade even into the 2nd round so I’m not too hung up on whether or not we can get Jake Long at #5. Frankly, I have yet to be convinced that any OT in the upcoming draft merits a #5 pick. As to free agency, I am bit discouraged about some the talk I hear coming from the Chiefs because there are a few fairly young players that the Chiefs would be foolish not to make a pitch which in turn would allow KC to draft more effectively. The guys I’m mainly talking about are Max Starks, Travelle Wharton, Lance Briggs, Albert Haynesworth, and Asante Samuel. Colts will likely have to give up one of their guards so that could work out for us too. Here are a couple of other trade scenarios to consider: KC trades 1st and 3rd round picks to Chicago for their 1st, 2nd, both 3rd round picks plus a future 3rd rounder. In addition to the #14 pick (Clady?), KC would end up with the following picks for ‘08 – a high 2nd round, mid 2nd round, high 3rd round and a mid 3rd round. If Chicago doesn’t bring in a QB through free agency, then they’ll most likely be looking to draft one. A similar trade could be made with the Bills. We trade our 1st, 3rd and a future 3rd for Bills 1st, 2nd, and both 3rd rounders. Bills will be looking to take either Laurinaitis or Ellis. If we can’t anybody to make the trade, then I say we take either Laurinaitis, the BPA CB or the BPA WR. With regards to CB and WR picks, the guys I want to see the Chiefs go after need to have top notch return skills, e.g., 1st round – DeSean Jackson, Antoine Cason, Early Doucet, Aqib Talib; 2nd round – Donnie Avery, Leodis McKelvin, Andre Caldwell, DeJuan Tribble; 3rd/4th round – Eddie Royal (gotta love his speed!), Terrence Wheatly, Chevis Jackson; 5th/6th round – Darius Reynaud, Rafael Little.

Mock drafts are almost impossible because its impossible to have the foresight of who will trade down, but every year it seems the draft is changed according to plan by teams trading down. I’m about 75% sure the Chiefs will trade down, I think if they can take someone else’s second round pick, yet still keep in the top 14 or so, they will do it.I don’t think McFadden would do anything for the Chiefs or anyone besides QB’s, linemen & WR’s.I’m surprised the cowboys would want to move up for McFadden, considering Marion Barber is a tough pro bowl RB and Jones is pretty good too, probably the best backfield duo in the NFL.My .02

Guys, LJ IS GOING NOWHERE! You can want to trade him all you want, but there is no way a team would take that kind of cap hit. SO PLEASE, PLEASE stop even mentioning that LJ would be traded.

Paradise, I will be doing a mock draft over here sometime soon. It might be this weekend or next. Trust me though, Adam and I differ on McFadden and where he will be picked.

fadden wont make it past pick 7 now way possible there. so unless detroit, or houston trade with us I dont see a trade at five

we must also remember last year King Carl was offered to switch draft picks by two different teams and didnt do it… Jax and cleveland both wanted to trade with us.
