good comments by all. I am a believer in the trenches and believe if we are too build a franchise around any QB (Croyle or otherwise), we need to build upon our line play. Far too many young QBs in this league have developed "happy feet" as a result of poor line play. Too much was placed on Brodie this year in terms of having to throw the ball and play catch up. The Chiefs need clock managment through the running game to allow a 4th qtr defensive stand. That was sorely missed this year. Herm wants to play games close and Defense was on the field far too long in too many games. Brokie will come along fine and Thigpin has shown signs as well. Go with the line in that first pick!!!!

What I like most about Ryan is that he almost single-handedly carried BC this year. He reminds a little of John Elway in that respect and if ever the Chiefs needed a John Elway-esque QB to single-handedly win games, it would be now. I would love to see what he could do with NFL-caliber receivers and a running game. I don't realistically see the Chiefs being a championship-level team next year so taking on Ryan as part of an overall 2-3 year rebuilding scheme is okay with me. That said, Herm and Carl have pretty much slammed the door shut on the notion of drafting a QB in the 1st round so I guess it's a moot point.

I need to really take a look at Woodson and Joe Flaco as well. I'm starting to think we need a David Garrad-type guy to move the chains with a short-to-intermediate passing game and his legs, and not turn it over. I think we need to take a long, hard look at the Jags. I'd like to see us have that kind of football team, and it fits his persona. Maybe hiring Shula would be the first step? Kinda changing my tune about that Jacksonville offensive staff after yesterday.

If we are going to take a QB in the 1st I'd rather it be Woodson. But if we are going to take a QB at all I'd rather it be Joe Flacco in the 3rd. I personally believe Brohm and Ryan have been severely overvalued.
