It's Official: The King is Staying

Posted by: Blog Z

“We have a plan and it’s being implemented. I have no intention to leave before the job is finished.”

- Carl Peterson

Carl & Clark (KC Star)

“Clark is as discouraged as any one of us. I feel bad for Clark because this is his first year as the leader of the new ownership group,” Peterson said. “We are going forward in 2008.”

This shows that Peterson seems to be making the decisions rather than Clark Hunt. Do we really want the GM speaking for the owner? I am waiting to hear from Clark and it should becoming anytime soon.

“We’re devastated. But we are not discouraged,” Peterson said Monday. “We know where we’re going and what we’re going to do.”

Everyone is devastated, but if I was Carl and I kept my job I would be ecstatic. Lets hope he knows where they are going…

Are you suffering from a Super Bowl hangover?

the problem is not with carl peterson!!! He is doing as good a job as any GM could. The problem is with the coaches and the players. Don’t forget that. Its not King Carl that plays the game!!!

When I vote it says "Please choose a valid poll answer". I suppose this is because the only correct answer is "No, I wouldn’t let him stick around for another year because I would have fired him five years ago."

Put that philosophy to any other organization … If I was a general manager and all my supervisors and general employees were no good at doing their job, I would expect the owner to fire me and find someone who could "Manage" those poeple to become more successful.   Especially after 19 years.  I think he’s great at half of what he does – the business administrative side of the job – but he seems to be falling short on the employee management side of his position.

How many superbowl apperances has there been under Carl Petersen.  He strives for mediocracy.  We pay a lot of money for season tickets and must demand results.   He should have gone with Marty.

The problem this year was the o-line and the play calling.  The coaches sucked too, especially Solari.  Why is no one bitching and moaning about Gunther?  I think Gunther has slipped too. Petersen is doing his best.  I would let Petersen go not based on this year but the fact that he has had almost two decades to get something done and has failed.  I would not fire Edwards, because I beleve a head coach should get three years to do something, although I really do not like Herm’s philosophy.  It might be a good thing that we went 4-12, there is no sugar coating that and wide spread changes must be done!!  GO CHIEFS!!!!!

Jeremy love that point. Going 8-8 would have allowed the organization to only make minor changes. Now they must go out and make some changes to restore confidence in the fans.

I think one of those changes has to be the firing of Mike Solari. If that doesn’t happen I am not sure how they can restore my confidence in the team.

Gunther I think did a good job with the defense. They looked bad mostly in the 2nd half or late in the game once the offense gave them no confidence and were stuck out on the field for the majority of the time.
