The Blame Game – Reader Edition

Last week I ran a post asking who Chiefs fans thought was most at fault for the Chiefs woes in 2007. We had over 230 votes and some great comments on these issues. Here is the breakdown:

Carl Peterson is the obvious choice here with almost half of the votes. He has been with this team longer than any other GM in the league. He has never won an AFC Championship or Super Bowl, but he still remains could still remain GM. Herm Edwards was the next highest getting 22% of the vote. I was glad to see that Dick Vermeil, the players and ownership got some of the blame as well.

Steven - I think Herm, and his staff, should be given another season, it’s only been two years. Carl and the other executives however, I’m not so sure the Chiefs wouldn’t be better off cleaning house up stairs where they roam. Bring in a new GM, if Herm does well and seems to show he knows what he’s doing, if not, then the new GM can hire his guy

kcchiefsfan56 (On signing Jared Allen) – Carl isn’t that stupid. He’s too much of a dynamic player. Either we’ll franchise him or give him a HUGE deal.

Surprisingly Mike Solari is hated more than Carl; shouldn’t he get some kind of award for that accomplishment? Solari was at the top of this list with 45%, with Carl coming in second at 23%. I think most Chief fans would love to get rid of them both, but feel that Herm should still get one more year.

Pete - Do you guys really want Solari fired? Don’t forget that with him at the helm our offensive line was one of the best in the league. Certainly it wasn’t all him, but I think he had enough of an influence that I’d love to see him back as O-line coach.

65 Toss Power Trap – I say all on that list.

Ty Law has vanished as a savior for Chiefs fans and has turned into a human piñata. Law and Patrick Surtain combined received 62% of the vote, leading us to believe most Chiefs fans would like to see both of these guys get cut. Eddie Kennison got the fewest amount of votes and it seems like most Chiefs fans would like to see if he can come back from his injury-plagued season.

Pete - I’m with you on Law over Surtain. We can’t drop them both…we just can’t, and the price tag should really be the deciding factor; especially in this offseason.

D Thomas – I think we should dump Pat Surtain and put Ty Law on the No. 2 reciever. There’s also some talk about letting Jared Allen go, which is a huge mistake. Drummond has to go, and K. Bell has done pretty much nothing as long as he’s been here.

Steven - On who should be released, I would go with all of them. I still would love to hear from Jason Whitlock as to why signing Ty Law hasn’t allowed the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl like he said it would.
