According to Pro Football Talk, it’s possible. UCLA is reportedly checking out Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards…
UCLA could be looking to add an NFL name to take over a program that has lingered in the long L.A. shadow created by USC.
According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, UCLA decision-makers have “debated the merits” of two currents NFL head coaches: Lane Kiffin of the Raiders and Herm Edwards of the Chiefs.
I’d wouldn’t invest too much stock in this rumor, as I’d think Lane Kiffin would be their first choice given his history in the Pac-10 conference with the rival Trojans. Still, if Herm did bounce who would replace him. Zach says Bill Cowher, and even though he’s stated he won’t coach in ‘08, I think the Chiefs job just might be too tempting for him to turn down given his history.

I wouldn’t put any stock into Cowher coming back to the midwest. I read/heard that he may be waiting for the Carolina job to open up. And if Herm ever leaves, we’ve got yet another rebuilding stage. I don’t see this happening. Herm will stay in KC.
I don’t see Herm leaving honestly. He’s been an NFL guy for a while now and the UCLA job isn’t all that tempting to begin. It would definately be a pay cut and job security isn’t a major issue right now for Herm.
