Chiefs Fix: TGI… Zubaz!?!?
First off, we have a new pet project that we think Chiefs fans — and all NFL fans, for that matter — will dig. It’s a site that revolves around the NFL Draft, with original mock drafts, mock draft databases, draft history, prospect profiles, video, etc… The site just went up this week, so right now it’s kind of like the Death Star from Return of the Jedi — fully functional but far from complete. Go get a sneak peak. – NFL Mocks
- Zubaz pants are back? Note to wives of male Chiefs fans: Please, please, please, please, puh-lease don’t buy these for them for Christmas. There’s cheesy, and then there’s Zubaz. What was that dropping sound? Oh, just readership going down about 20%. Sorry for busting your balls, fellas. – Zubaz.com
- Home of the Chiefs‘ Ryan Brown asks an interesting question:”What if Herm Edwards left?” Very interesting piece, but this upcoming caption is very troubling, because if you “struggle mightily” for numerous seasons in this age of parity, then you really, really aren’t doing things right.
His “get over it” press conference was a much-needed wakeup call for the fans of the Chiefs (more on this in a future post), and it shows me that he’s aware that this team is going to struggle, and struggle mightily, for the next couple of seasons.
- Brian Waters has been nominated for NFL Man of the Year. Funny thing is, he’s been our lone offensive lineman who’s played like a man this season. – Chiefs Official Site
- You know what, Randy Covitz, I like this article. I like that you give ex-Wildcat and special teams captain Jon McGraw some play. I like that you basically present the POV that Herm Edwards was an interim head coach last season, which was for all intents and purposes the last year of the Dick Vermeil Era. I like the train of thought that this season, this season was the first year of our rebuilding plan, not last. Call me a spin doctor, but I agree with this piece completely. – The Kansas City Star
- Arrowhead Pride’s Chris has a great exchange with Jimmy from Music City Miracles on this week’s Chiefs-Titans game. What was of particular interest to me is just how valuable Albert Haynesworth is to the Titans. He’s essentially their One Man Gang, their Jared Allen. Expect a little trash talk on Fat Albert later on today.
- ESPN’s Scouts Inc. ranked the top 64 quarterbacks in the NFL. Brodie Croyle came in 47th, Damon Huard 49th. That’s behind career back-up guys like A.J. Feeley, Charlie Batch, Gus Frerotte and Trent Dilfer. That’s also well behind disappointing part-time starters like Joey Harrington, J.P. Losman, Kyle Boeller and Rex Grossman. Perhaps we should really take a long, hard look at No. 12 on the list, Derek Anderson. That way we would could spend our top pick on an offensive tackle.

Adam might not support the Zubaz, but I am in full support. Two of my boys always wear them when they go to the game and like the say, If you got it flaunt it….
December 14th, 2007 at 2:38 pmDerek Anderson is going to get paid and we all know how we LOVE to pay players.
If we are going to get a QB in Free Agency lets go out and find that Anderson, Romo, or another guy we can bring in to compete with Brodie. Competition is always a good thing.
I would even take a look at Sage Rosenfals if we could acquire for a decent price. I know Adam thinks he looks goofy, but he has been lloking great the three games he has started. Scoring 31 points on a team we couldn’t do anything against last week.
December 14th, 2007 at 2:42 pmGuess I just have too much “metro” in me. You have to take my comments for what they are worth when it comes to fashion, fellas
Plus, if you are clowning around it is a completely different story.
December 14th, 2007 at 2:46 pmI think Brodie is out QB of the future. I can see signing a vet backup-type.
December 14th, 2007 at 5:22 pmIt is a big gamble to just go with Brodie. Honestly, I like him, but how does anybody know what we have behind this line. And like my old man said the other day, can he stay healthy? I think we need another guy who we feel could be a full-time starter. A QB competition would bring out the best in both players. That may not be Anderson, but it shouldn’t be someone like Huard.
December 14th, 2007 at 5:29 pmCan’t disagree with that.
Adam you don’t have to worry it won’t be goofy boy.
Rosenfals Contract: Signed a four-year, $7 million contract. The deal
included a $2 million signing bonus. 2007: $1.1 million, 2008-2009:
$1.35 million, 2010: Free Agent
Not that I think that he is a stud. I just want to see the Chiefs bring in someone to compete with Brodie.
