DeAngelo Hall Update

Found this while searching for more info on DeAngelo Hall’s status with the Falcons

Oct. 24, 2007 – 3:26 p.m. ET

Falcons CB DeAngelo Hall called the team’s release of Grady Jackson “asinine.”

Hall reiterated Alge Crumpler’s sentiment that veteran players are being pushed aside under the Bobby Petrino regime. Hall can be a free agent after the season, and odds are he won’t re-sign with Atlanta if Petrino returns.

After doing quite a bit of searching and reading similar news all over the Net, I think Hall is all but gone. If the Chiefs cut Patrick Surtain “to Get Burned” and his albatross of a contract after this season, I’m all for breaking the bank to bring in one of the league’s top five young corners. That’s just me, though.

What does everybody else think?

Effing do it, man. I'd take Stephen Hawkins just to get some fresh legs out there… wait… shoot…

he would be perfect for the chiefs! hes young, fast, and a lot better than surtain or law!

Well while I agree DeAngelo is a premire CB in this league, I don't think he would be a good fit for the Chiefs.  1.  He is a thug, I don't like him….while that may not be a legitimate reason I still have to say it.  2, and a little more seriously, CB is not a high priority position in the "Tampa 2" scheme employeed by Herm and the gang.  Safeties are the key.  Draft or sign younger CB's and spend the money on the OLine!

This is the mysterious Adam from the last post, Adam #1's alter ego. Ok, I'm just an new, avid reader and my name is actually Adam…Anyway, I really have to disagree with you guys here. Isn't Hall a free agent anyway? I thought he had a contract he can opt out of, meaning we won't be trading for him, we'd just have to buy him at the market rate. That'd be a huuuuuuge deal! You know there's a team out there willing to pay 80mil plus for 8 yrs!

    Other Adam…

This post says that he can be a free agent. We hadn’t dug up all the info on Hall at the time of our last post, and the details are still sketchy. Still, it seems that he can walk after this year if he chooses to, which I imagine he will.

And I would gladly rather pay him that kind of cheese than give it to Patrick Surtain and/or Ty Law.

Agree to disagree? Anyway, thanks for reading so frequently. Us Adams have to stick together.

no , they can solve the Corner problem… without going out for a high ass corner… and without waisting a high draft pick… as people mostly agree now… talent at high attention spots on the team wont get us where they wish to go… the Chiefs have a couple people they can trade… the best case would be to trade LJ (yes LJguys) for another teams left tackle… Mac can play right tackle…and has… this would leave one maybe two line spots but I say they would only need a guard in the draft … by making this bold move they would bring the chiefs back… and be able to use the first pick on another wideout, or a linbacker or yes even a corner. Again most people wont agree, but this one major move solves our problems

if a rookie can come in and play as good , wait two TDs one game…ok as good as LJ then let him. and how many dropped passes and missed blocks do we need to see from lj.
