Bobby Sippio… Our Other Campaign
There’s something else we want to campaign for — more Bobby Sippio. Honestly, his lack of playing time is starting to piss us right off, and it especially did yesterday.
I mean, it’s great to see our boy on special teams and on obvious running downs, but what about in the fourth quarter when we had to air it out? Seriously, Sippio can’t be any worse than Jeff Webb and Samie Parker, who combined for two receptions and 10 yards. Hell, Jared Allen had a better receiving game than those two. And Kris Wilson is worthless. I even think he would have came down with a few balls that Dwayne Bowe dropped. Not saying he’s D-Bo by any stretch of the imagination, but the guy’s hands are like glue.
Go ahead and say that I don’t see practice… blah, blah, blah. I’ve seen him play arena ball, his highlights, Hard Knocks, in the preseason, etc… — I have eyes, a brain and know football. The guy is a better player than either Parker or Webb. Like Tupac used to say — I betcha.
C’mon, now that we are out of the playoffs can we take a long serious look at the guy. What’s it going to hurt? We already know what we can expect from Eddie Kennison, Parker and, for the most part, Webb. Let’s see what we have in Sippio while we are rebuilding and trying to assess where we are strong and weak.
If you agree please leave a comment voicing your displeasure with Bobby Sippio’s lack of playing time. Our grumbling might have helped him get on the roster in the first place. Let’s see if we can help get some balls thrown his way.

Absolutely, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain, he may be an exceptional receiver but we will never know unless we try. If he is slow then let him take short routes. Ever heard of a possession receiver? Go Chiefs!
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:05 pmI think he is a better fit for this offense than the other guys, too… call him Joe Jurevicius to D-Bo's Braylon, or Bobby Edwards to D-Bo's Deion, or even T.J. to D-Bo's Ocho. We need a guy like him in our ball control offense. I really think he'd help us be more like the Browns, who have three guys who catch absolutely anything you throw at them.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:09 pmHere here! Why not see if he's got something? I guess, from KC's standpoint, he could turn out to be another Jessie Haynes (TIMEWARP), but even so, isn't it at least worth the look? I personally think he'd be a phenom, but I'm just trying to see what possible reason there might be for continuing on the great Jeff Webb/Sammie Parker Era, sponsored by Meineke–Do you remember where you were for it?
Sad though; I wish Webb would bust out. This way, I'd stop having to spend money on those damn personalized jerseys.
December 3rd, 2007 at 7:09 pmEven with Kennison back, Sippio is still on the active roster. The Chiefs are keeping him off the practice squad and away from other teams for some reason. I just don't know what is it yet because he hasn't gotten any playing time.
December 3rd, 2007 at 7:54 pmI don't mind seeing what the guy can do but come on you can't say watching Arena highlights give you a good read on what he can do in the NFL. Those are totaly inferior athletes to those in the NFL. If watching film from another league guarenteed success then drafting would be a snap, just draft the guy who dominated in college. Unfortuanatly it doesn't work that way
December 4th, 2007 at 5:26 amTrue, we don't see Sippio in practice each week…but we have seen Samie for a few years now. If I see Samie Parker drop another ball, I am going to hurl…and if I don't do it naturally, I'll induce my own vomit! We may as well see Sippio get a few balls thrown his way. Career receiving numbers stat check: Jared Allen = 1 reception Bobby Sippio = 0 receptionsI will say, however, that Bobby looked a little confused on his kick return last week. "What should I do Master Webb?"
December 4th, 2007 at 9:22 amYou've been wrong about Sippio all year. It wasn't a mistake to put him on the practice squad. He wasn't snatched up by another team. Because, he's not nearly the player you think he is.
December 4th, 2007 at 10:11 amIt's hard to get a pass when you can't get open
December 4th, 2007 at 10:13 amMy only responses here so far are to…
Nick, I can tell that the guy can really run, jump and catch by watching those highlights. I wasn’t watching his competition, I was watching him. I know the guy is a great athlete with great hands.
AP, when has he even been in on a passing play? Jesus.
Who are these people, the staff of the Same Parker fan club. I wasn’t even aware that he had fans.
December 4th, 2007 at 11:48 amAll I am going to say is why not give him a chance. Sammie Parker and Webb have had there chance. Kennsion doesn't really need to show us anything besides to get 100% healthy and hopefully comeback for next year if he can still produce (so far he hasn't).
Herm wants the young players to play to see if they can develop. I am all or anyone that hasn't gotten a chance to play, its not like were making the playoffs boys.
December 4th, 2007 at 11:51 amNick, your right, Sippio in the arena league doesnt mean he is going to
December 4th, 2007 at 11:54 ambe a great or even good NFL player. But sitting him on the bench will
never let us know that…
I still say that if you watch that arena footage their is no way you can’t say that Sippio certainly has a chance to make an impact in the NFL. The guy has field speed, and obviously has great hands, size, strength and leaping ability. You can see that in the tape no matter who his opponent is. Just look at it like it’s his combine.
Parker must have pics of Herm having sex with a clan of monkeys, and Webb was Herm’s son’s best friend at SDSU. At least that’s the rumor. All I’m going to say about those two.
December 4th, 2007 at 12:43 pmLet it die. You're not an NFL scout. Nor are you smarter than everyone who actually does the job as their profession.
December 4th, 2007 at 1:42 pmWell, I am the lead writer of a pretty succesful little Chiefs blog and have been paid professionally in the past to cover the NFL as a journalist. Plus, I played college ball. Obviously, I have at least some knowledge when it comes to the game. My bro is also a football coach, so I pretty much eat, breathe and sleep the sport.
Honestly, I’m confident that Sippio will turn some heads before the season is over. He isn’t being left unprotected on the practice squad, and he is playing more and more with each passing week. All that tells me that he has some value to the organization, and that they are giving him a shot. I just wish they’d speed things up a bit and not play Eddie, Parker and Webb so much. We’ve seen what they have to offer so far this year, and it hasn’t been very impressive.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, though. I’ll admit — I am higher on Sippio than most. What people are misunderstanding, however, is that it isn’t just that. I’d want to take a look at any young receiver on the roster at this point. Every receiver who we’ve played not named Bowe has been absolute garbage this year. That, my friend, is irrefutable.
December 4th, 2007 at 4:35 pmGO SIPPIO! He is a flat-out beast! I saw him play against Columbus and he dominated against their corner who just so happened to be defensive player of the year in arena. Give the guy a shot; he is big, fast, and has hands.
December 4th, 2007 at 4:37 pmThank you! Finally another Chiefs fan who isn’t sold on the All-Pro Parker-Webb tandem. Just give Sippio a fair shot and we’ll shut up.
December 4th, 2007 at 4:39 pm"If

No, but it's a pretty good precursor to success. Ask every MLB team that looks to "inferior leagues" in Japan or the Dominican Republic– Diamonds aren't just found at Zales, they're also discovered in the rough. Boil it down, boys: there's no risk in trying him out. If he sucks, oh well, he helps us move up in the draft boards (glass half full!). If he rocks, then yippee, we know we've got a guy to invest in.
December 5th, 2007 at 12:39 amFrom the very first I have been calling for the Sipp to get playing time, but to no avail. Arena football is not NFL, but it has to rate right up there with the top college programs. Players who have played in both say it is faster. That may be true. I honestly do not know. I do know some have said the Sipp is slow, but then so was Chris Carter and Steve Largent. Jerry Rice wasn’t exactly a speedster. Go Sippio!
