Chiefs Fix: Hump Day Hodgepodge

by Chiefs
  • Jared Allen lit the Mayor’s Christmas tree last Friday. Hopefully, he”ll resume lighting up opposing quarterbacks come Sunday. – The Call
  • Kyle Turley will donate his entire $25,000 paycheck from the Dec. 23 Lions game to a fund for disabled NFL retirees. This is a move that could actually hurt his career, so big props to the big man. – Yahoo!
  • Larry Johnson is expected to make an appearance tonight on The Boomer Grigsby Show. You can catch it live tonight from 6-7 PM at Nick and Jakes located on the NE corner of 135th & Metcalf in Overland Park. ESPN Radio 97.3 FM will air the show live, and you’ll probably be able to find the podcast over at Warpaint Illustrated sometime tomorrow (not always a guarantee).
  • The Chiefs are only five-point underdogs for this Sunday’s game. An old trick I used to do when we were really bad during the Gunther Era (and Vermeil’s first year) was to bet against us in games like this one. That way I either made money or paid for a Chiefs win. Yes, it’s twisted, but it helped me survive as a Chiefs fan. Those were desperate times indeed, and they might be back.
  • Chris over at Arrowhead Pride supplies proof that we’ve all but been statistically eliminated from the playoffs. My upcoming post will also touch on this subject, so stay tuned. – Arrowhead Pride
  • Herm Edwards getting nailed for — you guessed it! — poor clock management. – Epic Carnival
