Chris from Just Blog Baby stopped by to answer ten quick questions about the Chiefs and Raiders…
1. How would you grade Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin so far in his first NFL season?
C-
A little too hesitant than is needed in the Not For Long league (he’s coaching like he’s got several years to right this sinking ship).
2. What have been some of the bright spots up until this point for the Raiders?
Chris Clemons‘ unexpected contribution. Jay Richardson’s solid play after being pushed into the starting lineup due to injury.
3. What has been the biggest let down for the Raiders so far this season?
Terdell Sands, he has the same measurements (if not bigger) as John Henderson, but can’t stop the run for the life of him. If the Raiders were able to stop the run, their season would be in a far different shape.
4. Has Al Davis lost it? He recently said that he won’t retire until the Raiders win two more championships? Has he discovered the fountain of youth, or will the Raider resurgence happen sooner than the rest of us expect?
He must die before the Raiders are going to able to win anything. He was a brilliant man, but the key word is was.
5. Will we see JaMarcus Russell this season? For the life of us we can’t figure out why he isn’t already playing.
Yes, he needs the comfort of a home crowd, so look for him to play, if not start for the Raiders when they host the Denver Broncos in Oakland in two weeks.
6. Did the Raiders cost Michael Bush a chance to play this season because they didn’t want the Chiefs, Broncos or Buccaneers (Jon Gruden) to acquire LaMont Jordan or Dominic Rhodes?
Yes on all counts, but I’d rather not go into any details, because I’m still to angry at the team I love.
7. How will the Raiders attack the Chiefs on Sunday? How should they?
I think Lane Kiffin will keep himself from opening up the passing game early on this Sunday, and like every game the Raiders have played this season, that is why he’ll fail.
8. Where do you feel the Chiefs are vulnerable? Strong?
Strong at the corners, ends, and outside linebacker position. Vulnerable up the middle, I should know, I saw Napoleon Harris get run over as a Raider all the time.
9. Do you think Brodie Croyle will become a quality NFL QB?
Yes, I just think he needs the security of know the Chiefs are his team. I’d cut Damon Huard after this season just to show Croyle that he’s the man.
10. Who will win Sunday and what’s your final score prediction?
Unfortunately, the Chiefs, 24-19. But the Raiders will have chance if they cause turnovers, but hell, every team should win if they get more takeaways than their opponents are able to force.
