The Ebony Bird… by Edgar Adam Poe

Once upon a mid-afternoon dreary, the Chiefs looking weak and weary,
I was reminiscing over the volume of forgotten back-up QBs,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly I stopped tapping,
Some one was gently rapping, rapping with an e-mail for me.
`’Tis some spammer,’ I muttered, once again `tapping on my keyboard –
Only this, and nothing more.’

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak November,
And each separate turnover wrought its ghost upon the season.
Eagerly I wished it was already tomorrow; — vainly I had sought to borrow
Then again I ventured inside my e-mail; — that was no spammer’s word,
But this fan from the city Baltimore who truly shared my sorrow.
Thus we introduced him to what’s known as The Ebony Bird.

That’s right, Chiefs fans. The Fan-Sided Blogs network has launched a Baltimore Ravens blog — The Ebony Bird. And, yes, anytime I can slide some Poe into my blogging I do (especially when I just found out that Viggo Mortenson is going to do a Poe movie!). Jarret Carter, of Scott Van Pelt Style fame, is the lead blogger over there. We expect big things from J.C. on The E.B., so go check it out.
