Right now, all we know is that the Chiefs are calling Larry Johnson‘s injury a simple ankle sprain. Still, ankle sprains can be problematic, and can definitely keep a player out from anywhere from a week to six weeks (depending on the severity of the sprain).
If L.J. has to miss any time, then Priest Holmes would be the Chiefs’ interim starting running back. While I like Priest and think he looked OK today, it was clear to me that he wasn’t as effective as No. 27. Maybe he’ll look better with more looks, and also as he gets use to the contact once again and regains his game conditioning. Hopefully, L.J. is OK. For now, cross your fingers and pick up Priest in all fantasy leagues if he is available.
I’m still too upset about the loss to even really talk/write about it. I’ll put that off until tomorrow, when I’ll finally have to face the inevitable Chiefs hangover head on.
