You Won’t See Me at the Coliseum

Oakland Coliseum (By ArrowheadAddict)

After reading about the latest incidents at Oakland Coliseum, I will never go to a Raiders game at the Coliseum. Fans that were tailgating for the game on Saturday night got shot up by gang members, leaving four people injured and in the hospital. The good news is that they are expected to recover.

Four football fans tailgating Saturday night outside a Oakland Coliseum parking lot in preparation for Sunday’s sold-out Raiders game were shot by suspected gang members who mistook them for rivals, police said. All the victims, including two brothers, were taken to local hospitals and are expected to recover, police said. Police said at least a dozen rounds were fired at the victims, who were all hit with bullets several times.

We were just kicking back,” the 23-year-old Oakland man told police. “We always hang out (here) for Raiders games.”

In another incident after the game, another man was shot in his thigh.

Should the Chiefs hire Scott Pioli and Josh McDaniel?

Holy cow… what a bunch of psychos.

  2. 2. Zach Says:

Crazy stuff out there. Maybe they should move them back to LA. Although, like Adam said the Raiders Organization in way promotes this crap.

  3. 3. trojan56 Says:

Hey Zach, show me anywhere where the "Raiders" promote this.

  4. 4. Zach Says:

I said in a way, with their image they do. They have always been the renegades of the league. I am not saying they promote a "Bring your gun to the Stadium day" but it happens all the time in Oakland. When do you ever see this anywhere else in the country:

  5. 5. Zach Says:

They have also always supported their "BAD BOY" image.

  6. 6. trojan56 Says:

Ok thats better. We do have the Bad Boys image and are viewed as the renegades of the west unfortunatly a few gang memebers mistakenly thought they were rivals. This happens everywhere not just in Oakland. Then this happens next to the stadium (the night before) and auotmatically "oh them Raider fans are all thugs". Besides, lots of Raider fans start tailgating the night before and have been doing it for years.

This incident had NOTHING to do with Raiders, it happened on a side street outside of the Coliseum. Get your facts straght before you people make your sweeping generalizations, better yet stay in the Midwest.

LOL at 'this could happen anywhere'.  Right like the times I was across from Arrowhead of Lambeau field and got shot because some morons thought I was in a rival gang.Look I admit parts of KC are dumps too but I don't know of anytime that Raider fans came to KC and get shot multiple times across the street from Arrowhead.Never been to the biggety bibbety O but it sounds like a good place to get shot, smoke sherm, and hang out with Oakland celebrity bubb rubb.In case you missed the joke about my friend bubb rubb in the biggety biggety O.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccgXjA2BLEY

That a boy macdawg. Also on getting my facts straight this came from the SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS! Not a Kansas City Source. So get your facts straight and take 9 in a row like a man.

  10. 10. Zach Says:

Oh and JC dont worry I will stay in the Midwestd. I love Carmel, CA and other places in Cali, but you will never see me in Oakland. I can promise you that. You can have that part of the country.

I don't think that attaching this incident with the Raiders organization is fair nor accurate. Where was the outcry when the Dolphins fans threw rocks and bottles at the Raiders player's bus? They actually broke down one of the buses so bad the driver had to get the players off of the vehicle and onto one of the other 4 buses.  Things happen like this all over, it's because people are often ignorant and idiotic.  That's not a Raiders thing, that's a people thing.  It's sad and unfortunate this happened, but the fact that it was at a Raiders game is not indicative of the team, the fans or the orgnization, IMO.

  12. 12. Zach Says:

Well first thing is we didn't play the Dolphins this week, so thats one reason. Also that is rocks and bottles not guns.

Hey in KC and Indians player got shot with a BB gun and if we were up and running when that happened I would have hammered our idiotic fans too.

Like in the post above, We know there are a ton of good, loyal, and respectful Raiders fans. I have friends and a coach I coach with are Raiders fans, which are good people. It just seems like it is always a bit more serious out there than anywhere else in the country.
