No, this isn’t how well your Uncle Jeb is doing at the local Alcoholics Anonymous chapter — it’s our first installment of power rankings for the 2007 NFL season!

  1. New England Patriots – The Pats aren’t the defending champs, but who cares. They’re world beaters, and will win a minimum of games. I’ll I’m going to say is that the ‘72 Dolphins have to be at least a little nervous.
  2. Indianapolis Colts – The defending champs are no slouches either.
  3. Green Bay Packers – The surprise team of the ‘07 season is legit. Hell, they’ve won eight of their last nine games.
  4. Dallas Cowboys - The ‘Boys caught they asses whooped in that so-called Duel.
  5. Jacksonville Jaguars – Point blank — The most underrated team in the league. they’ll show that come Sunday.
  6. Pittsburgh Steelers – “Slick” Tomlin has this crew playing its best ball since its Super Bowl-winning season.
  7. New York Giants - Eli and Co. are really rolling right now. The G-Men are back.
  8. Baltimore Ravens - I hated rating the Raves this high. Billeck’s boys get the nod because they play in the AFC.
  9. Washington Redskins – Anemic offense, but possibly the best defense in football.
  10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – They could end up getting a bye in the NFC. Don’t laugh; The NFC South is that weak, and they have a cupcake schedule.
  11. San Diego Chargers
  12. Tennessee Titans
  13. Carolina Panthers
  14. Kansas City Chiefs - Honestly, I can’t rank us any lower than this. Not with one of the league’s top five defenses, NFL Defensive Player of the Year contender Jared Allen (six sacks in four games… 3-1 since his return), our offensive skill players (D-Bo, L.J. and Tony G) and Priest Holmes returning. Actaully, considering we’re in first place in the AFC West, I had a hard time ranking us behind the Bolts. I just had to, though. Maybe I like us better as underdogs.
  15. Philadelphia Eagles
  16. Cleveland Browns
  17. Detroit Lions
  18. Arizona Cardinals
  19. Seattle Seahawks
  20. Houston Texans
  21. Minnesota Vikings
  22. Denver Broncos
  23. Chicago Bears
  24. San Francisco 49ers
  25. Oakland Raiders
  26. Cincinnati Bengals
  27. New Orleans Saints
  28. New York Jets
  29. Buffalo Bills
  30. Atlanta Falcons
  31. St. Louis Rams
  32. Miami Dolphins (Sorry, Brian!)

Why would you say sorry?  My own power ranking will be up on Sat and I have the Dolphins ranked 32 as well……:(  Now, as for the Chiefs?  Not so high…6 spots lower at 20….sorry…

  2. NFL Adam says:

I believe that you have Jacksonville way too low. They are better than the Cowboys.

  3. Adam says:

Way too low? I have them fifth? I see your point, though. The Jags are a very good club.
