The Rich Get Richer: Chambers is a Charger

Chris Chambers (NFL Players)Right after we learned the good news that Michael Bennett has been traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a conditional second-day draft pick, we catch the bad news that the San Diego Chargers have acquired former Pro Bowl wide receiver Chris Chambers. Granted, the price was pretty steep for a guy who’s been a disappointment ever since making the Pro Bowl in ’05. On the other hand, Chambers possesses both more experience and talent than any other receiver on the Bolts’ roster. What scares me is that Philip Rivers is probably the best quarterback he’s ever played with, and he’s never played with skill players as talented as Antonio Gates and LaDainian Tomlinson.

We’ll have to wait and see how this move pans out, but from where I’m sitting it certainly appears that the division’s best team just got a little better.

I think its a great pickup for them, he has 400 plus yds already this year, on the worst team in the league.  Parker has a broken big toe and is out for season which is why they did this.  Would have like to seen the Chiefs make this type of deal.  We need a No.1 WR, now Dbo is a 2 but on a meteoric rise.

It still scares me quite a bit. This is the best offense he's ever played in... by far. And you do have to respect Vincent Jackson, inconsistencies and all he's a gamebreaker.

All of this comes from Cam Cameron playing A.J. Smith one last time.  Chambers has not been the player he was 3 years ago for quite some time.  The Dolphins get a chance to start building through the Draft.  Way to go Cam.

They did give up a second-round pick. They could really, really regret that come April. On the flip side, Chambers is on my fantasy team, so if he's better at least it doesn't totally ruin my life.

I love this!!!!  Chargers apparently have no faith in Parker, V Jackson, and even their new pick Craig Davis.  Chambers is good but does not scare me.  He can catch but seems slow to me.  Only desperate teams trade for players, and rich teams trade away, bye bye Bennett! GO CHIEFS!!!!
