It’s still very early for the NCAA investigation to determine anything, but this comes at a rather bad time. After losing two straight years to in-state rival Kansas, reports are out that the NCAA is probing Kansas State for football violations. They are looking at one former university employee, three former players and two current players. This could be a big blow to Ron Prince and his early success at K-State. Some might wonder if these violations happened under Bill Synder, but I have to believe that with two years now passed this is something that happened under Prince’s regime. Athletic Director Tim Weisner has stated that he believes no one is involved in the staff and that they will take swift action if determined to be different.
“To this point there is no evidence that any member of the coaching staff, support staff or representatives of our athletics interests are involved,” Weiser said.
He said the school hired outside counsel to assist in its internal investigation.
“We have never, nor will we ever, tolerate intentional violations of NCAA rules,” Weiser said. “Should it be determined that violations have occurred, we will take whatever steps necessary to ensure that we maintain the highest standard for compliance.”
UPDATE : They have named the three former players who are being investigated: DT Junior Moran, WR Antonio Brown, and Ro Grigsby.
