Chiefs Fix: Who Are Da Bears?

Posted by: Adam Best

Mimi Me (Ad Week)San Diego Chargers linebackers coach Ron Rivera recently called Chicago Bears QB Rex Grossman a “mental midget.” Rivera was the Bears defensive coordinator last year. – We Are the Postman

Here is the Star’s preview of the game. – The Kansas City Star

A list of the many Bears-Chiefs connections. – Arrowhead Pride

RB Cedric Benson swears he’s not soft, WR/RS Devin Hester is upset with his current role in the offense and TE Greg Olsen probably won’t play Sunday. – Chicago Sports

I hate to see anyone get injured, but the Chiefs caught a break when S Mike Brown went down for the season last week. We have human fire hydrant Lorenzo Neal to thank for that. – Tremendous Upside Potential

Corey Dillon might be joining the Bears? What? At least that won’t affect us if it goes down. – NFL Gridiron Gab

And one non-Bears link: The Chiefs were able to add fan favorite TE Michael Allan to the practice squad. We can all exhale now. – K.C. Chiefs Fanatic

Stay tuned for lots more on Da Bears…

I heard John Alt was still in shape…hahahahaha

  2. 2. bfos7215 Says:

Rivera denied saying that about Grossman.

  3. 3. Zach Says:

He can deny it all he wants… He might not have called him exactly a mental midget but he has admitted that you can get insides Rex's head. Plus it came from one of his own players. Why would he make that up?

  4. 4. Zach Says:

Oh and one last thing, there is something obviously wrong with Rivera. He was on a Super Bowl team as their top Coordinator and the Bears didn't even want him back. Then he couldn't even get a DC job and had to move down and become a Linebackers coach when most thought this season he would be a head coach.

  5. 5. bfos7215 Says:

I don't know if there's anything "wrong" with Rivera.  I just think teams aren't sure how much of that defensive success was his or Lovie's.  Lovie didn't want him back, because he never wanted him in the first place.  Babich was always Lovie's guy, but the organization wanted someone with more experience.Regarding Rex:  I expect every defensive coach to say that about every QB to get their team going.  I have no problem with that.

  6. 6. Zach Says:

Completely agree with you about Rex. Riveria is just trying to save face because he would still like to become a head coach someday and this doesn't help that.
