Tank Tyler: The Narcoleptic DT/MC

Tank TylerHe clogs the running lanes, his personality is as big as his frame, he sleeps in film sessions, he spits rhymes — Tank Tyler is like a combination of Grady Jackson, the narcoleptic broad from Deuce Bigalow and Jay-Z. All of this adds up makes one of of our future studs — and we definitely need something positive to focus on right now, even if it is long term — more enjoyable.

He didn’t do much on Sunday (one tackle), but I truly believe he’ll play more and more as the season advances. Houston ran way too much on us, and a good portion of the blame for that has to fall on the shoulders of our veteran defensive tackles. Alfonso Boone played pretty well, and typically held his ground. I wasn’t too impressed with either James Reed or Ron Edwards, though. Hopefully, Tyler can help this unit improve over the course of the next several games.

We had this video of Tank’s (accidental) bobble head dance in the vault, so we figured we’d hook you up…

I'm thinking Boone will be a fine addition to the rotation at DT.  Reed and Edwards are not specimens but they are free agents we picked up that I consider upgrades over the Sims/Browning setup…..You are absolutely right Tank can be a feel good story this year.  Still waiting to see what kind of a pass rush on 3rd downs we will get out of Tama, Turk, Tank, and Allen.
