Sippio to be Activated

Posted by: Blog Z

Bobby SippioAdam Teicher is reporting that the Chiefs are planning to activate Bobby Sippio to the 53 man roster and release tight end Michael Allan.  This speaks volumes about the severity of Eddie Kennison’s hamstring injury and the coaching staff’s desire to make some plays on offense.

I’m struck by the decision to drop Michael Allan…I understand it, but I think we are loosing a real talent there.  Hopefully he won’t get snatched up, and we can quickly get him on the practice squad.

In all of the plays captured on video by Hard Knocks, and those in the St. Louis game, Sippio never dropped a pass.  Hopefully he will dress on Sunday in Chicago (Teicher indicates he will dress), and get an opportunity to make some great catches for a team that desperately needs someone to make a play.

I agree – feel a bit worried about releasing Allen. But look, we're at 53 (not counting Jared) and 8 on the roster and practice squad, respectively. We release Medlock and Allen for Sippio and Rayner. Basically we need to hear something on Kennison. Looks like the best move right now. I loved Allen, but he probably isn't contributing this season. Time for some Sip-Sip-Sippio!

Dont drop Allan!!! Drop the back up safety Williams, or even Grigsby.  I love Boomer, but how many games will he even be activated?  I think the Chiefs kept him becuase if he did not make the team, Jared Allen would for sure leave after the year.  (Jared Allan and Grigsby are good friends).  Oh well, I am glad to see Sippio get at least a roster sopt.

We can't drop Allan.  He is our TE of the future.  Tony only has a couple of years left.  I agree let Williams go, or even one of the young CB's.

chad williams has always been cut. i love the fact sippio is making the team now, but i hate the fact allan is being cut. cut jeff webb even before allan, allan has some real promise.

    Bring on the Sippio era.

Actually, Williams made the initial 53-man roster and was cut shortly afterwards. Sippio is my boy, so even though I hate losing Allen, we need Sippio much more right now. More on Sippio and the "Catching Cousins" tomorrow!

Allan will replace Adkisson on the practice squad I bet.
