Is Bobby Sippio Slow?
Judging from many of the recent comments, it seems Chiefs fans think wide receiver Bobby Sippio’s speed, or lack thereof, was what got him cut. He did run only a 4.69 40 at the combine quite a while back. He’s either improved that speed or that was just a bad test, because he’s been clocked under 4.4 much more recently. Chiefs coaches even said that they had good times for him during the footage of his workout we saw on Hard Knocks. Watch the footage below and decide for yourself if he’s slow. I’m sorry, but I just can’t get over this. Our commitment to both Jeff Webb and Samie Parker is going to really cost us. It already probably cost us Sippio, and if it hinders Dwayne Bowe’s development I’m not going to be happy.

There has to be a good reason why they cut him and not one of the others. You can be a good receiver but have questionable character and lack of work ethics. Maybe something will come out that will show us all why they cut him.
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:21 amBy all accounts it sounds like he had a great work ethic, which is why he made himself into the player he's become. Who knows, though. Maybe it was his attitude. I just think it's Parker and Webb, personally. Real smart, Frank.
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:41 amSippio's time at the combine was 4.69, but that was several years ago and maybe a fluke. Since that time he has times of 4.37, 4.40, and 4.45. He has great hands, a good work ethic, runs almost perfect routes, and delivers devasting blocks. Yes, he has an attitude, but is also very much a team player. I likewise have to ask why the Chiefs are so committed to Parker and Webb?
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:50 ami dont mind the commitment to webb, at least he is young and has never really been given a chance. however, keeping parker baffles me to no end…
September 3rd, 2007 at 11:47 amQuestion, who is Rashad Barksdale. He is on our depth chart now.
September 3rd, 2007 at 11:55 amBarksdale was released by Philly. Hopefully, we'll have more info on him and be able to post that info soon.
