Byron Leftwich Released by Jaguars

Byron Leftwich (Photo Credit: Cnn.com)The Jacksonville Jaguars have let go of QB Byron Leftwich. This leaves the door open for him to shop himself around and find the best fit. Teams that are rumored to be looking at him are the Chiefs, Dolphins and Falcons.

The Jacksonville Jaguars today released 19 players including quarterback Byron Leftwich, traded RB Alvin Pearman to Seattle for an undisclosed draft choice, and placed two players – DE James Wyche (groin) and WR Mike Walker (knee) on injured reserve. The other veterans included in today’s cuts were G Dan Connolly, S Jamaal Fudge, LB Nick Greisen, DT Seth Payne, WR Charles Sharon, CB Bruce Thornton and CB Dee Webb.

    we  have a couple people who are still on this team… wesley, bell, and parker…(who starts above most peoples GREAT DRAFT CHOICE…) bowe… , and now we get to watch the chiefs go after leftwhich… if we would have drafted tony H. ………………………………

    btw our  (should have drafted)  tackle from last year is starting again at left tackle for the jets… with both these two players we would have an o-line… and yes hali was still going to be there last year in the second round for us.

    I'm all for us signing Leftwich.  Then we could get rid of Chad Williams, who I can't seem to figure out why he's still on the roster.  Maybe it means a trade with Wesley is in the works.

    I agree wesley wanted to be traded…and jacksonville at one time was interested, in wesley.
