Larry Johnson has signed and finally ended his holdout. L.J. actually even practiced today with the first team. He was in Kansas City yesterday and many thought that he would be signed. Jay Glazer is reporting the details of the contract:
The star running back Johnson has agreed in principle to a new six-year, $45 million deal with Kansas City, FOXSports.com has learned. The contract includes $19 million in guaranteed money. Johnson is expected to rejoin his team on Tuesday.
From the K.C. Star:
As for Johnson’s five-year extension, he will earn $43.2 million, making him the highest-paid running back in the NFL based on average salary per year. Johnson is guaranteed $19 million and will make $27.7 million over the first three years of the extension.
Johnson wasn’t just watching practice, either. He took carries with the starting unit, and was pass-blocking during live work.
We will have more on this later, it’s just nice to finally have our best player back.
