Halftime Heroes and Zeros: Preseason Game Two

AUTHOR: Blog Z | IN: Gameday | COMMENTS: 8 Comments |

Here are our Chiefs standouts and disappointments from the first half of action against the Miami Dolphins:

Heroes

chiefs.gif  DE Jared Allen – He continues to shine in his contract year.

chiefs.gif  WR Chris Hannon – He still looks like the skinniest player in the NFL, but he scored the first offense TD this season!

chiefs.gif  CB Ty Law – He was the only one in the secondary looking solid every play.

chiefs.gif  TE Michael Allan – Made two great catches and held onto the ball. How many times did Carl brag about that pick?

chiefs.gif  DE Tambi Hali – Didn’t do much in the 1st quarter, but he caused a nice turnover.

Honorable Mention: DT Alfonso Boone, WR Jeff Webb, TE Tony Gonzalez, P Dustin Colquitt & Punt Coverage Unit, FS Greg Wesley (Yes, he played alright)

Zeros

Zeros  QB Damon Huard – Looked awful, simple as that.

Zeros  DT Ron Edwards – Got worked all night by a rookie.

Zeros  DT James Reed – Read Edwards above.

Zeros  MLB Napoleon Harris – I have big expectations for this guy and I hate seeing MLB run around blocks.

Zeros  K Jusin Medlock – Had better kickoffs, but he needs to hit from 42.

You might want to add the ENTIRE O Line.  We can't run to save our life.  Not even Larry could get through those holes!

  2. Zach says:

I hear ya. Even Waters looked bad, especially in the 1st drive where he looked awful at times. Hopefully this is just a preseason thing…

I want to see ECK in the game he did a great job last week and this week they kept him sidelined….. and still we need MAC back he may not be the best ever left tackle but he can play the spot correctly most of the time… overall I still think when LJ is back for the first regular season game we will see a much improved team top to bottom…..

I like the whole nickel back competition going on.  Wondering if were ever going to see Marcus Maxey or are they considering him a wasted pick already?  Patterson and Brackenridge both look like keepers, Pattersons tackling is impressive.

Looks to me like Printers should be the guy – best passing % and most yards rushing

  6. JWal says:

Casey Printers I think deserves some props as well.

  7. Zach says:

Guys he is playing against nobodies and he cost us the Browns game… Lets no get to ahead of ourselves here because Printers went 8 for 9 against guys who wont be on a NFL team in a week or two…

  8. CWebb says:

Judging from Herm's comments after the game, sounds like Michael Allen might have done BAD by doing so well this last game. Between Tony G. and Kris Wilson, there's not a lot of space left for this position, and I wory that if Allen goes onto the Practice Squad, he'll be snatched up by another team, just like Indy with Lilja a couple years ago. The only encouraging thing is that with Dunn still being on the PUP, there's a glimmer of light that this guy can squeeze in.-cw
