Chiefs Fix: The Floating Head

Posted by: Adam Best
Herm’s Floating Head (K.C. Star)

What is up with the floating head? The Kansas City Star keeps going to this image of Herm Edwards like Dick Enberg goes to “Oh, my!” We’ve said it time and time again, but whoever’s doing the images over there needs to be stopped. Now. This time they plopped it at the top of the page just like I have, except not for comedic effect. – The Kansas City Star

Chris over at the always on-point Arrowhead Pride has a fantastic Kansas City Chiefs blogosphere link dump, which includes work from the HoG crew, Home of the Chiefs, K.C. Chiefs Fanatic and, yep, us. – Arrowhead Pride

Other Notes…

In addition to Bankmeister, Zach and I, we now have two other writers — longtime standout Arrowhead Addict commenter Chris Webb and die-hard Chiefs fan/blogging vet Mark Hunsaker. We’re glad to have these two great guys on board. Not only that, but this should allow us to be the most active Chiefs site on the Net! Make sure to make these two feel welcome.

Back to the Chiefs — other than Sippio and the Johnson holdout — there isn’t much to report. The quarterbacks are still battling for the No. 1 spot. The coaching staff hasn’t picked the nickelback/No. 3 cornerback yet, but they do like Dimitri Patterson and Tyron Brackenridge. Big Jason Dunn is still hurt. We’ll finally get to see Dwayne Bowe in action on Thursday.

Again, nothing new. I think all of us evaluating the Chiefs need at least one more preseason game before we can reach any conclusions. I do have on bold prediction, though: L.J. will sign sometime next week and Priest Holmes will be released. It doesn’t seem like either party is all that infatuated with the other right now, and that move will probably work best for both sides. The Chiefs have admitted that they prefer Michael Bennett to Holmes at this point, and I’m not so sure that they don’t like rookie Kolby Smith better as well. We might try to swing a trade, but I think Priest came back to get a bigger contract, so that scenario is unlikely.

Remember, I’m live blogging Hard Knocks at 9 PM tonight. Make sure to be here and/or tuned into HBO on your TV sets!

I e-mailed somebody at the Star about a week ago or so about the picture issues and they quickly got back to me. Apparently, the problem stems from when they put their print edition stuff online.  The pictures look good in print…but not so much online.  They said they were working on it.I was very impressed with their response and should definitely get some props for at least trying their best to fix the problem. Lord knows I've been harping on their case about it for a while too.
