Training Camp Rundown: Could Michael Bennett Be the Man?

by Breaking News

Michael Bennett (profilessports.com)Now we’ve talked excessively about both Larry Johnson not returning and Kolby Smith taking his place, but what about Michael Bennett? I think we all forget that he made the Pro Bowl not too terribly long ago as a Minnesota Viking. He’s looked great in camp thus far, and hasn’t put the ball on the ground like Derrick Ross and Smith have. He’s got good hands, makes strong cuts and is probably the fastest player on the team. If L.J. doesn’t get signed and Priest flakes out, it will be Bennett that will be the featured back. Sure, Kolby would see significant playing time in that scenario, but Bennett would definitely be the guy.

Jared Allen was on 810 this morning. My brother listened in and told me that Jared said his stance hasn’t changed on coming back to the Chiefs after this season. That sucks, because Herm Edwards really put himself out there for Jared by writing Roger Goodell a letter requesting that Jared’s suspension be reduced. Plus, Chiefs fans absolutely love Jared. He shouldn’t just write the Chiefs off because he can’t get along with Carl Peterson. I mean, who can get along with King Carl? Jared also said that if he wore any Chiefs’ player’s jersey during his suspension, that it would be Boomer Grigsby’s.

Will Svitek was ejected from practice after he punched Turk McBride.

All the buzz has been focused on Allen, Bernard Pollard, Brodie Croyle, McBride, Priest and the holdouts up to this point, but what about Damion McIntosh? The guy has been downright dominant. If he plays like this all year long, then he’ll definitely be worth every penny.

Bernard Pollard is quickly become one of our heroes here at Arrowhead Addict. After dislocating his finger yesterday — an injury which he said hurt like nothing he had ever experienced before — he not only returned to practice, but midway through he ditched the splint the training staff gave him. Who is this guy? The second coming of Ronnie Lott? He may just have to go on the header when we do our preseason re-design.

Derrick Johnson had an amazing pick-six this morning. Benny Sapp and Pollard celebrated with him like it was an actual game.

Tyron Brackenridge is still the first-string nickleback.

O-line. Will it work this year?  Also, Herm, get some balls in the Air.  I can't do another year of field goals in the red zone.

LJ will be the man....well him and the PRIEST!!!

Dan, I thought Vikes fans love Bennett :)

Bennett's pretty damn fast. He'd be serviceable at worst behind our line. Well, if he stayed healthy.

You guys are in trouble if Bennett's your number one guy.
