Larry Johnson on the Best Damn Sports Show

Larry Johnson made an appearance on The Best Damn Sports Show Period last night. He looked right at home in Vegas strolling out with two chicks in bikinis. The interview — primarily given by Chris Rose and John Salley — is only about six minutes long. Some of the highlights: Rose cracking on Tony G for being a pretty boy; Salley talking with L.J. about his music video kiss with Fantasia (how much did they pay him to do that?); L.J.’s Herm Edwards impersonation; and L.J. saying he was confident that a deal would get done between him and the Chiefs. L.J. even talked about what’s going on with Mike Ditka and all the former players he’s working with, so he’s done his homework. I guess everybody is on vacation right now, so I wouldn’t expect anything to happen until later this month or early August.

If I were King Carl, I would have left town for a while after Freeney signed that massive contract too. Don’t worry, though — Peterson will get this deal done. Yes, everyone — from Jabba the Whitlock to Warpaint Illustrated — is suggesting that L.J. might be playing somewhere else this fall. Don’t believe the hype. We cleared all that money this summer to take care of L.J. and Jared Allen (next summer), and possibly to make a splash in free agency next year. Trust me on this one.
