Gonzalez and Shields too close to call

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Fanzone/Tailgating | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

Tony G (latinosportslegends.com)Tony Gonzalez is currently four votes ahead of Will Shields in their quarterfinal match-up of The COAT. Can Will thrill us all and make a comeback? Or is Tony G’s combo of stats and style just too much for the big fella to handle? Nobody has really said this yet, but maybe Tony can run away with this whole thing? I’m not doubting Will either, but Tony hasn’t trailed as of yet.

This is the closest battle we’ve had thus far, so make sure you vote!

More stuff later today…

Man this one was a toughie I was there when Will started his iron man streak, but I think in the end both are hofers. I just think for me personally Tony plays a more visible role on the chiefs, and as I recall as hard as it is because of my love o-line play how many tds did will score in his great career? Iam so confused lol !

Tony also might be the best TE of all time when he finally hangs up his No. 88 jersey. I love Will to death, but I'm not sure you can say the same about him.

  3. redbeard says:

but can tony get the ball without that o-line it works the same as with the running game. And I hate attitude… Will flat out played and did his JOB!!!!!

  4. redbeard says:

to me… the really great players are the ones who just simply play…:) , but thats me

I can't argue with either vote here. These are two of the all-time Chiefs. Now if Bobby Bell could have been included…..  Well, that's my soapbox.

  6. Adam says:

Who's Bell going to beat out? Lanier? D.T.? Even if he was better than D.T. — and I don't think he was but I'm biased and didn't see Bell play live — he's not as popular. D.T. is one of the most popular Chiefs of all time.

  7. merlinnj says:

Adam, you are right that Bobby Bell was not going to beat out DT. However, if you ask who are the best 16 Chiefs for the COAT, I would put Bobby Bell in that group.
