"Were there rumors or talks of getting Oliver outside of the blog world, e.g. real life?"The Chiefs worked him out and I'm guessing that they would have tried to get him in the 5th round. Not sure if Oliver or Gaither were really "Herm guys".

the CHIEFS simply have the players they want wether we want others or not… its kinda like a reciever everyone wanted hey we got one, but last year would have been better… hmmmmmmm lets see T.O…… or bowe…hmmmmmmm, and TO would have been great last year in the playoffs.

I agree with the general feelings of pissed-off-ness. Now I just wanna know what's up. Were there rumors or talks of getting Oliver outside of the blog world, e.g. real life? My point is that I'd like to know if Carl or Herm will address this and explain/justify it. I pray to God in Heaven they knew what they were doing. Otherwise, I'm going to chain up the GM to my car and drag him… for 40 yards (or 4.6 seconds… whichever comes first).-cw

I agree on Oliver, I was starting to love this kid and really hoped we drafted him. That was a mistake, this kid can be special. —— Gaither, on the other hand, is a waste of a pick. Do I take him in the 5th or 6th round, possibly but he has bigger problems than just grades. I have read reports (don't rememer where) where scouts have said he is TREMENDOUSLY lazy and doesn't care about getting better. Sure, that could change, but I would just as soon stay away from the kid personally. ——We should have gotten Oliver though…

I will argue this mistake to the death. That is, unless we go out and sign Chris Patrick. Who could hopefully become a good guard, even 'roids free. We've had good luck with intelligent Gs from Nebraska before, let's give it another shot!!

If Gaither can keep his weight down, he will be a very good player. Especially learning under the wings of Brian Billeck and Jonathan Ogden, possibly the best offensive mind and best O-lineman in the game.

Oliver ran faster than a 4.6, he ran a 4.5. And he didn't even train, because he was hitting the books (probably a little too late) trying to stay eligible. If he can run with the SEC's WRs, then he can play in the NFL.

Oliver will be the Bolts nickelback in '07, and they were hurting there just as bad as we were. Not any more.

And everyone acknowledges that Gaither is a BIG-TIME project right now. I bet anyone that only one will develop into a good player, and thats if one.
