Noooooooo, Maas! Bill Maas arrested on drug and gun charges

Broadcaster and former Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle Bill Maas got arrested this weekend. From the WWL:

The two were arrested Friday night after authorities stopped Maas’ sport utility vehicle along Illinois Route 116. They asked to search the vehicle after Maas appeared nervous, officials said. The search uncovered a .22-caliber revolver, 5 grams of suspected marijuana, 6 grams of suspected cocaine and 28 pills of Ecstasy, police said.

The 45-year-old Maas was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. Murphy was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, jail officials said.

What a dumbass. First off — and I’m not advocating drug usage here whatsoever — why did he need that much stuff? Furthermore, what in the hell was he doing driving around out of town with enough drugs to fuel a small rave in his car? And why, if he wasn’t inebriated (he would have been charged if he was) did he give the officers permission to search his car? He could have refused. Plus, with all of his money, couldn’t he have afforded a properly registered and legal firearm?

Maas was just an idiot all the way around on this one. That’s all I have to say.
