Larry Johnson is one of six players — the others being Brian Urlacher, Drew Brees, Jason Taylor, LaDainian Tomlinson and Peyton Manning — nominated for the 2007 Best NFL Player ESPY. Now, it’s pretty unlikely that L.J. will win, but it’s an honor even to be included in this group, and as Kansas City Chiefs fans it’s our duty to vote for him. our best player just retired .
Tony G might have some beef with that statement, and L.J. probably would too. There is an arguement there for sure, though.
Offensive lineman don't win ESPYS. That's the thing.
My other thing is I bet L.J. doesn't even make half of what any other player on that list makes right now. In fact, I know that's true. I'd have King Carl screaming "show me the money."
At a quick glance and the latest contracts I could find (since the NFL likes to not disclose those) where in 2005.
Where Manning, Brees, Tomlinsom, and Taylor where all around 8 mil. Urlacher was above 6 mil and LJ was at 1.1 something and he is only making 1.9 this season. So by far he is making less than any of those players and I mean BY FAR!
thats his fault…just like it was williams fault(now there was a messed up stupid contract)…*HE will get paid.* Carl cant afford what he will ask for at the end of the year, and no way possible that LJ misses the regular season. He may hold out during training camp and preseason but , it may be a mistake to hold out during the regular season.
Its not at all Larrys fault. He was drafted where he was drafted and basically slotted at a salary. He has almost outplayed that contract and now wants to be paid for the player he is.
I dont blame in RB that is in his last year of his contract not to ask for more money, especially when he lead the league in carries and has piled the stats he has. They could get injured at any second and careers ended. Just ask Priest. He asked for his raise, got it, got hurt and is still collecting checks. Why cant Larry do the same?
Well maybe not the get hurt part
the checks priest is getting are not full checks as people think he took a large paycut, and what is going on with the chiefs and with priest is good for both teams … if people would read between the lines. He restructured his contract…what he was getting had a injury clause in it… that paid him more… and what ever carl and priest worked out is saving us money.
I understand people want something to talk about but I would rather here about ECK!!!!!
