Just as The COAT Special Teams Group wraps up and we move on into the nitty gritty of the tournament, Bob Gretz from Chiefs.com graces us with an update on the Kansas City Chiefs current special teams situation. He revealed that:
-
Jean-Philippe Darche will be the team’s long snapper, but we already knew that.
-
Justin Medlock will be our kicker, but we already knew that.
-
Dustin Colquitt will be our punter, but we already knew that.
-
Bernard Pollard is good at blocking punts, but we already knew that.
The only interesting bit from the entire piece was the update on the return specialist battle. Apparently, Benny Sapp (really?), Chris Hannon, Eddie Kennison, Jeff Webb and Samie Parker (ugh) are the candidates. He did mention my boy rookie Ean Randolph as a possibility, but he spelled his name wrong, so, the Chiefs can’t be too serious about him. Hopefully, I’m wrong and Randolph wins the job, because other than possibly Webb none of those guys do it for me.

Yah I laughed my ass off when I saw that he spelled his name wrong. He is only the Chiefs main writer…
