David Carr may be an option down the road if Brodie doesn't pan out considering David is now playing a role of "insurance" and may be available for a trade. If that were to happen, its at least 2 yrs away. I expect to see Damon start the season at QB depending on performance and we may not see Brodie until week 8 or 9 depending on the record and playoff hopes. I'm basing that on Brodie's limited reps last year and ensuring he is ready this year. Shanahan made a similar move last year with Jay Cutler that had implications to a playoff spot but accelerated his learning curve which may pay dividends this year. A similar situation could occur with Brodie. If Brodie doesn't cut it, with all the movement to the defensive side of the ball, we could have a reversal of fortune from the Vermeil High Power Offense with no defense to support game day. If Brodie does take the helm and truely becomes the franchise player we hope he is, then what we're seeing in the youth movement now, becomes a success story and I will humbly get off the Carl rant...*grin* One thing has to be proven by every player; We have to win on the Road. The schedule this year accelerates the youth learning curve on this point. Is anyone besides me ready to get this season started!!!! LOL

i hear he's gained weight too, which is good. i might get bashed for this, and i don't want to sound like i have absolutely no confidence in our qb's, but i wouldn't have minded if they brought in David Carr. even just for a bit more competition. I think has some solid potential if he's put behind any kind of an offensive line. and almost anything beats the texans line, maybe even the raiders.

Brodie, I love that he has shown up this year...he actually is playing in a way that makes us see why GREEN wanted out...this kid looks great, so far...If he continues to improve throughout the preseason and the preseason games he will start and be better than Green.
