FoxSports.com’s Jay Glazer is reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs have finally traded Trent Green to the Miami Dolphins. The Chiefs compensation will be a fifth-round pick that could potentially become a fourth-round pick depending on how much Trent plays next season. Apparently, King Carl bullied Randy Mueller and Co. into the deal when he notified the Dolphins that if a trade wasn’t finalized today that Trent would remain on the Chiefs roster for the 2007 season. More to come, but for now… all hail the King! Way to hold out and get all we could! (Props to big_chief87 for the tip!)
UPDATE 6:51 PM CST: Both the 610 and 810 radio stations have confirmed the trade.
UPDATE 7:05 PM CST: One note I would like to make is that the deal is still contingent on Trent Green passing his physical. He should already be on a plane to Miami, and hopefully this will be done tomorrow. Considering that doctors allowed him back on the field last season, I don’t see him failing. You never know, though, so we’ll all probably have to somewhat hold our breath for another 24 hours or so.
UPDATE 7:10 PM CST: ESPN is finally reporting this. The Bristol crew was a little slow on this one. Get it together! I do think this deal is done, that is as long as the physical exam goes as expected.
UPDATE 7:35 PM CST: The Kansas City Star is now reporting the trade.
