Arby's Chiefs Mini-Camp Snippets

Here’s a quick recap of some of the developments I found interesting from yesterday’s public mini-camp session…

15,837 fans watched the event, which apparently is a Kansas City Chiefs mini-camp record.

Rookie WR Brad Ekwerekwu made a diving 40-yard touchdown catch. The pass was from Brodie Croyle.

Croyle hit Chris Hannon for another long TD — a 60-yard bomb. CB Marcus Maxey got burned on that play. Croyle obviously played pretty damn well, which even despite the lack of full contact is an encouraging sign.

It looks like Trent Green actually played OK, except for an off-target pass that was tipped by Donnie Edwards and picked off by Pat Surtain.

It doesn’t seem like Damon Huard was very effective, but he didn’t play much. But who did, really?

New starters, as of right now: FB Kris Wilson (kind of a new starter, I guess), KR Ean Randolph, OTs Chris Terry and Damion McIntosh, G John Welbourn, DTs Alfonso Boone and Turk McBride, LBs Donnie Edwards and Napoleon Harris, and safties Bernard Pollard and Jarrad Page. Keep in mind that Jared Allen played and G-Wes didn’t, and that a lot of changes could still take place before opening day.

Boomer Grigsby switched numbers — going from 51 to 46 — and shaved his head. He seems pumped about playing fullback, really. We’ll just have to see how this project works out.

I love that Herm Edwards put up a poster of the Indianapolis Colts celebrating the playoff win over us in the weight room. Herm also has constantly been saying “remember our last game” to our players. I love it — we need to remember that pain.

go ECK GO ECK GOOOOOOOOOOOO ECK !!!!!………………now watch for Carl  to cut Kennison and save a few more bucks…lol, just kidding. With Croyle at QB……… ECK makes sence, he's a bigger target…And ECK can play, as long as they have a QB to get him the ball…with his size and block out style sort of Tony G. like…in the red zone we will rock the world
