Hell, nobody in the history of the game has ever gotten that sack or even a seventh one. I think we all can forgive him for not getting eight sacks. After all, seven sacks is already like something out of a video game.

I'm pretty sure that the Chiefs lost that game in spite of him instead of because of him. He almost got an eighth sack which would have won that game. Believe it or not, I actually remember that one quite well.

I'm going to get to my D.T. piece tomorrow, but for now I'll just say this:

There are only a handful of front-seven players -- Ray Lewis, the original L.T., Jason Taylor and Julius Peppers come to mind -- that I've seen in my lifetime who have shared D.T.'s ability to totally change the game around with one single play. More to come...

I hear you but it wasnt just a DT rule change...hahahahatake a look at the whole def.there were allot , I mean *ALLOT* of players who were racking up sacks left and right across the league. And the rule change was also (partially) because of crowd noise..... Both of the two reasons prompted the rules committy and the owners to change where there tackles line up.proof is by looking at the number of single players with 15 plus sacks a season, we have now as to back then.

redbeard: I have no problem for anyone voting for Bell or Lanier over DT. I am guessing DT will advance anyway due to the age factor. I do agree that DT was more one-dimensional than either Bell or Lanier. I would probably rank DT #3 for linebackers. Just to play a bit of devils advocate, something that I think gets overlooked with DT is that his pass rushing ability had alot to do with the NFL allowing OTs to line up a step back of the Guards and Center. When your skill has alot to do with forcing a rules change, you have accomplished alot.

Merlinnj, your correct in that they should advance over D. Edwards, as Donnie is a very very good player he never ecselled at anyone area of the game, although he has always been great in coverage and tackling, he just has never had that something special to put him over the top, that those other three have had.To me it boils down to the fact that Bobby Bell and Willie Lanier were both way more complete players, than was DT............. no way people can say different...............yes I know they will anyways, but they are wrong. And I differ in that I dont think he(DT) makes the Hall of Fame soon, ***trust me I dont hate DT****, I loved what he did here,( I remember when he literally called a saftey on Jeff George when he was with the Raiders, and we got that safety)............... but as for the COAT I dont buy it at all, there is no way possible to change my mind.....what the two HOF'ers have that he doesnt they both covered, they both tackled like we havn't seen here since.
