Trent the ATLien?

AUTHOR: Adam Best | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

With Michael Vick Ron Mexico slated for a six-game suspension prison (30 dogs are buried in his old backyard? What is this, Paint It Black?) can the Atlanta Falcons really feel comfortable starting the season with Joey Harrington as their starting QB? There’s a chance that the Falcons signed Harrington because they knew there was going to be some trouble brewing in Vickville, but I thought the move was more due to the Matt Schaub trade than anything else. I do know this — if I were Bobby Petrino I sure as hell wouldn’t risk my career on the wobbly right arm of Harrington.

That being said, if Trent Green doesn’t end up MIA is there a chance he could end up an ATLien? The Falcons have a great rushing attack and a dominant TE in Alge Crumpler. Sounds familiar, right? Wouldn’t Trent be right at home with those surroundings and an offensive genius like Petrino? Don’t the Falcons have at least similar talent to the Phins? After all, they had a helluva draft class — Chris Houston, Doug Datish, Jamaal Anderson, Justin Blalock, Laurent Robinson, etc — and weren’t that bad a year ago.

Just something that I wanted to throw out there for the Miami-or-bust crowd. There may actually be other options out there when all parties involved realize that than the Miami deal. Hopefully, Trent won’t be a Kansas City Chief though. It’d be like taking back an unfaithful ex-lover at this point. We’d probably even have to get Joey Greco to mediate.

I still think Green stays but this is a good possability, and it may come to fruition if we get down to , the line so to speak.
