My latest RealFootball365.com article examines the Kansas City Chiefs current FB situation. More specifically — Boomer Grigsby, Kolby Smith and Kris Wilson. Here’s an excerpt:
The Outlook
While there isn’t a proven NFL starting fullback on the roster, few teams have the versatility that the Chiefs have at the position. Expect Grigsby, Smith and Wilson all to play pivotal roles in head coach Herm Edwards’ ball-control offense. Who plays the most will vary depending on the situation, but all three will see plenty of playing time in ‘07. Chiefs fans can take solace in the fact that the roster now boosts three capable fullbacks, when just last year there wasn’t even one following Richardson’s departure.
The other thing I noticed on the graveyard shift is Jason King’s Michael Allan article over at The KC Star. I love this kid. 4.6 40? Is Tony G even that fast? Maybe we can split him out. We have to have the best group of TEs (Tony G, Wilson, mammoth blocker Jason Dunn and Allan) in the NFL, no contest.
Check back in later for a preview of The COAT’s running back group.
Update 12:17 PM EST:
KC Chiefs Fanatic has the list of the four additional undrafted free agents who were signed after trying out during the rookie camp.
Arrowhead Pride checks in on NFL Europe star (did I just say that?) Derrick Ross.

well the fullback poss. will determine who makes this team run…I know people liked Wilson back there but to be honest he was eaten up by the linebackers all the time.
He works when they send him to the flat…
I hope that the rotation fullback works here…
and it may as LJ doesn’t really like the fullback in his way…lol(really)
as for Allen he needs to concentrate on special teams thats how he stays here long enough to see if another TE leaves.
Can’t disagree there. I do think Allan sees the field some next year, though. Could be wrong, but… we’ll see.
what i am seeing is with all the new people can they afford to keep four TE’s, three FB’s, or four,
and at wideout we have five or six new guys who could stick around…
we will no doubt have extra
D linemen this year….and we have a couple linebackers they like now as well…
with all the new talent someone has to go…who will it be?????
bell.
Kendrell Bell has been cut allready…
i’d like to see fox step it up and become a solid backer. he flashes some potential. axe bell, even if they want to put him at end, i think once allen is back, he’d once again become useless.
woah, when did bell get cut. sweet.
To my knowledge he hasn’t officially been cut. Unless something has changed in the last few hours.
sorry I thought they cut him way back….
They should have…
