The Legend of The COAT…

by Chiefs

… is already growing. The dysfunctional fam over at House of Georges — a two-donk, one-Chief ménage à trois that keeps us highly entertained every time we head over there — liked The COAT so much that they’ve hijacked the idea and formed their own All-COAT Team.

I agree with nearly every member of their all-time Kansas City Chiefs squad, except I can’t go with Joe Montana over Lenny Dawson and I can’t leave off Dale Carter. Additionally, Tony G is close to shattering many of Shannon Sharpe’s records, so I don’t know if I agree that Sharpe is the GOAT TE. He is the greatest of all time, however, when it comes to resembling his team’s mascot. Or maybe that was Elway… or Shanahan?

And I’ve never heard L.J.’s “Diamond Sign” called that before. Wow.

Anyway, go check out HOG’s All-COAT Team.

And remember — One COAT to rule them all, One COAT to find them, One COAT to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them.”

Or something? Just remember to vote.

The good thing about Carl is that he doesnt get bullied

He knew Holmes' days were numbered... and he was RIGHT.

King Carl will not be the COAT I promise you redbeard. :)

He only drafted LJ because he thought Holmes was done!!!!!

You guys know I side with the King quite a bit. I think he's been vindicated to some extent after these last two draft classes. After all, he picked L.J. even though Dick wasn't onboard. Vermeil and Lynn Stiles were garbage scouting-wise.

if we are taking this down to one player the *COAT*
then we must compare them...

and by taking it to one we must look at all the areas of football capability, not only pass rushing skills.

Lanier stood out on a team full of standout defensive players...
He played the mike like they play it today...that alone says allot , he could have probably played in todays cover two as well...and talk about speed he was one of the fastest mike linebackers to play here.

You add Carl and we wont like you guys anymore

Love the COAT talk.

Although, I think King Carl should be up for consideration, lol.

Well, Lanier was a MLB and DT was an OLB. So, it's hard to make fair comparisions. I am not sure we have another MLB that can come close to him. Gary Spani and Dino Hackett included. lol

Lanier was a more complete player...
DT was one dementional...DT wasn't able to cover the pass or defend the run, nearly as well....
if it wasn't for his first step he didn't bring much...( and he didnt show up for small games just ask Donnie Edwards that one...lol)
although his first quick step was allot!!!
DT's only interception was in the last year and it was a duck to boot.
the 69 defense was one of the best!!!

And what can you ecspect from a Denver wanna be horse face

I can't disagree. The '69 team wasn't fairly represented, but I think he said he did that because he never saw those guys play. I will be voting for all of those guys except Lanier, who I can't pick over D.T. Lynch was also a great one at that spot.

As for your QB list, I agree for the most part and I'm going to have to check if Deberg is even on the list.

I do like the idea of an all-time Chief's team. His list is off. I don't think he had anyone from the Super Bowl winning Chief team. How do you have an all-time Chiefs team without HOF's Buck Buchanon, Bobby Bell and Willie Lanier. Montana over Dawson? Please! It's not possible to make that choice if you only look at Montana's Chief years. I would take Dawson and Green over Montana's Chief years any day. I was playing around with the QB's and came up with this as a top 5. Comments are welcome

1] Len Dawson
2] Trent Green
3] Joe Montana
4] Steve DeBerg
5] Bill Kenney
