Chiefs PM Quick Links

by Draft

(Photo credit: fansonly.com)Michael David Smith, not to be confused with Christian pop singer Michael W. Smith, takes an in-depth look at the current state of the AFC West in his “Four Downs: AFC West” piece. As far as our Kansas City Chiefs are concerned, he singles out recently signed undrafted free agent nose tackle Stanley Doughty, who played his college ball at South Carolina, as a guy who might not only make the final squad, but potentially make an impact.

Arrowhead Pride has an updated official list of the 2007 undrafted free agents signed by the Chiefs. AP even links last year’s list, reminding us that none of these guys while likely do jack. Except maybe Mizzou WR Brad Ekwerekwu, a potential super sleeper.

ESPN’s resident NFL guru/Gollum look-alike John Clayton has a new column out in which he looks at the questions surrounding all the AFC teams. Not much on the Chiefs, but overall the piece sums up the state of the AFC rather nicely. He did the NFC in a separate column last week.

I love how this FoxSports.com’s Inside Slant calls Dante Hall Dick Vermeil’s “personal salvation project,” but that gem of a comment gets thrown out the window after the same article claims that we traded Kawika Mitchell. Dick Vermeil cried every time Dante laced his shoes up correctly. That’s a fact.

Jeremy Green of Scouts Inc. picked his early favorites to win each division during his chat today, we were not one of them:

OK Eight Division winners. New England, Baltimore, Indy and San Diego in the AFC. Dallas, Chicago, New Orleans and San Francisco in the NFC.

San Francisco. Hmmm? Pretty interesting chat, though, as he labels both of the Bolts’ big picks as reaches, and discusses the Raiders offense from last year, which he calls the “Bed and Breakfast offensive system.”

SI’s Peter King still thinks Trent Green “will be a Dolphin. Just not very quickly.” The rest of his Monday Morning QB isn’t as interesting as it usually tends to be. The Sun-Sentinel’s Miami Dolphins blog also has a brand new post on Green, if you can actually stomach any more at this point.

Business is still pretty slow for us Chiefs fans today, I guess we’ll just have to deal with it.
