It’s official — Eric Hicks has been cut.
Honestly, now that he and his ridiculous salary have been removed, I have no animosity towards Eric Hicks. Now, I do towards Ryan Sims, but that is a different story altogether. Hicks was a hard-working overachiever whose production over a few years with the Kansas City Chiefs landed him a contract way bigger than it ever should have been. He’s a decent man who’s always played hard on the field, and been one of the Chiefs’ foremost philanthropists off the field. I wish him only the best, but I’m relieved to have that albatross of a salary off the books.
Who to cut now? That is the real question…
1. DT Ryan Sims - I’m ecstatic to have Turk and the Tank rolling into town. First off, because I like what they each bring to the table, but also because the writing is now on the wall for Ryan Sims. I despise Sims because he is a fat, greedy freeloader that collected millions of dollars from our beloved Chiefs, yet never even attempted to hold up his end of the bargain. Sims should be embarrassed of his tenure with the Chiefs. I’m not sure he even deserves for another team to give him a second chance.
2. S Greg Wesley – With Dante Hall and Eric Hicks now gone, Greg Wesley, aka “G-Wes the Tackle Whiffer,”assumes the two spot. We need to dump his bloated salary in the worst possible way. I can’t believe the Chiefs are trying to trade him. Excuse me — every other team in this league has seen us play, which means they’ve seen Wesley play, or attempt to, as well.
3. QB Trent Green - His lack of loyalty has been disheartening. I understand that he’s upset over losing his starting gig, but he’s getting old. Besides, it wasn’t Carl Peterson out there pretending to be Michael Vick and nearly getting decapitated, was it? That was you, Trent Green. He needs to show a little more gratitude and loyalty to the franchise that gave him his big shot. I can’t wait until his ridiculous $7.2 mil contract has been removed from the equation — either by trade or termination.
